They weren't my favourite couple from last year but I quite liked them. However I find the hero worship of them & speculation of every little minutiae of their relationship rather odd.

I don't dislike him at all, I couldn't really give a flying fuggle about him one way or another.
I was simply making an observation on his outstanding facial features.
Which are eyebrowy. And ferrety.
I'm sure many people like that kind of thing.

As for Ali and Brian .... well all good things come to an end sometime, a shame but they have made the decision, so ce la vie.
Perhaps our Pamela can tell us how a relationship forged by an intense experience doesn't usually survive. Since neither is on the show anymore should be a pretty safe target. Sorry, I meant a "sympathetically instructive topic".
