Sorry, but anyone young and sensitive enough to be upset by a reference to comedy eyebrows should not be allowed unsupervised on DS.
Have you been over to General Discussion or Advice?

Forget the young-- All 52 years of me have been horrified ( and educated) over there!

Now, call me a cynical old bat, but I see a pattern here - no more shows, no need to 'stay together'.

Must admit I only came in here because the title intrigued me - Ali & Brian are no more what? No more use than a chocolate fireguard? No more than a couple of reality TV stars from last year?

Don't think he's ferrety at all, ferrets are cute little creatures.

I'm really, really sorry if I upset any genuine ferret fans who really love ferrets and love everything about them and think they're gorgeous and properly understand the real ferrets.

I'm just jellus cos I'm a hatah.

When you get to my age you convince yourself that you're at least as young as every other FM who's bloody obviously middle aged.

They weren't my favourite couple from last year but I quite liked them. However I find the hero worship of them & speculation of every little minutiae of their relationship rather odd.”

I hope not otherwise my entire day was a whole mess of total wrongness.

I'm younger!

Can I be classed as a 'youth'....? (Well, they do say life begins at my age!)

Sorry, what was the topic? Ali and Brian who??.....

I liked Brian during his first Strictly series but went off him when he partnered Ali. I didn't warm to them as a couple. Still, the end of a relationship is usually painful unless they were in it for other reasons. The mag interviews and photoshoots I thought were vulgar but each to their own.

Did we ever believe that they ... er ... were?

Yes I guess I am one too!! Honestly I do think these celebs believe the general public are really, really thick. Ali and Brian were on Lorraine on GMTV recently, going on about how in love they were, apparently Lorraine could "feel the love" between them.......of course they were promoting their new West End dance show.!!!LOL. Now that is over, suddenly no more romance!! Poor Brian, no more Strictly and now no more Ali. Reminds me of the "romance" between Camilla and James the Chef when he appeared on Strictly a few years ago. Stupidly I fell for that one and believed it. Especially when Brendan was on ITT and gave an interview about James and Camilla and how he felt about it. Later James admitted it was purely publicity, Camilla at the time was living with her boyfriend!!!! I no longer believe any of the media stories about romances between pro dancers and Strictly contestants!!

So was Mavia a "made-up" showmance?

One thing I hope is that Tess tones down the innuendo about any of the cooples (mistake intended!) Especially Ann and Anton!

I agree with this although I did go through a bit of a phase of being like that about Mavia so it's a bit of glasshouses situation.

It's not the end of the world but it is a bit sad because they seemed like a nice couple. Unless it's all rubbish of course - papers do make that sort of rubbish up it happened with Mavia.

Vicious little so and sos though I understand - a bit like badgers - they look cute but you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of one. I think Brian actually looks more like a Thunderbird puppet - and I do like Brian although I don't particularly fancy him - but then again apart from James and Ian I don't really fancy many of the Strictly pros.

The benefit to either Matt or Flavia must be so minimal by now that if they're still claiming to be together I would think it's true.

Joe Calzaghe wants to break into acting I think (or am I thinking of someone else?) and obviously Kristina is still on Strictly, so I'm on the fence as to whether that's real or just contrived for a bit of convenient publicity.

I did believe Ali and Brian were a couple, but the timing is certainly suspect.
