Fact is according to the 2001 census, 91% of the UK population is white. It will be interesting to see what it is in 211, a bit lower maybe, but not by much. The current selection of candidates on The Apprentice is therefore a fair representation of the UK population.

If you dont like this fact, then tough. This is UK, we are 90% white. Get over it.”

This is the problem with affirmative action - it becomes "expected" even when not needed or deserved.

It never seems to enter the minds of those "demanding it" that British ethnic minorities who have "made it" in life actually put the "time, dedication and effort" into making something of their lives.

Years ago when the population here was 99.999999% ethnic caucasian and anglosaxon my mother (90 if she was still alive) used to try to be diplomatic by using the acronym NQW (not quite white).

Being specific over ethnic origin nowadays borders on the impossible to the extent that most of us have given up caring.

why does there have to be an ethnic mix.? if all the candidates were black and white people complained, would there even be a thread on this issue?

I don't notice candidates on the show by race- I judge them on their idiotic, backstabbing, power hungry behaviour!

why does race always have to come into it- can it not be that perhaps the best candidates were chosen regardless of their background

This is English television, and the majority of people in England are white. If you don't like it, bugger off to a different country.

An average what?!
The programme can only feature applicants who have applied , maybe they don't receive many applicants from black males?? You can't just assume that the ethnic mix is low due to underhand reasons

England is a democracy which respect freedom of speech, which means people are entitled to give their opinion no matter how disagreeable you may find it. If you don't like it, bugger off to a different country.

Oh and further using your analogy, if there's ever anything you've objected to about England eg weather, food, rush hour, public transport, politics...tough...this is england, bugger off to another country.

I'm aware she did but she implied that having a disagreeable opinion has no place in england and one should bugger off elsewhere. I, using sarcasm (which i obviously need to emphasise more (maybe with more smilies?!?)) tried to highlight the idiocy of such a statement.

I'm also wondering about this. I class him as white just by looking but u could b right. is there some confirmation somewhere e.g. photo with his parents, background profile which on the off chance points 2 mixed heritage?

It really doesn't matter but am intrigued now...

I'm as calm as someone who has just drunk Horlicks laced with Valium thank you very much.

If we are not to take you seriously, what's the point in asking the question?
