9150 Help...
Roddders
08-10-2010
I am trying to update my software to 1.00.23. As I havent used my pvr much the version i have at the moment is 1.00.10.

The pvr will find the newer update but when i press yes to update it reboots and I get an error E-HW message and I have to switch off.

I have tried automatic and manual search and have defaulted the settings as advised by the humax website.

Any ideas?

Heres hoping

Leave it on auto updates think the defult time is 0.300 do not switch off leave it on standby. The update is not on the network all the time. So you have to wait. You find when by looking searching for updates freeview

What is the system ID as reported by Menu>System>Status?

Hardware Version rev 1.0
Software " HPTTF 1.00.10
Loader " a 4.35
System id 3024.0000
Update date Sept 8 2008

I have left it on over the update broadcast times and it has no effect.

The system ID is correct.

You need to leave it in standby for the OTA to be performed automatically.

Wasn't there some problems with OTA downloads with early loader versions? I notice the latest loader is a4.38 and might be bundled with v23 software although the filename doesn't suggest that. You may have to update using your computer.

The update didnt work.

Is the PC option straightforward?

It's fairly simple, though you will need to get a "null modem" serial cable and, if your PC is fairly new and doesn't have a serial port, a USB to serial converter.
