iPhone 4 issues over exaggerated?
Soundburst
08-10-2010
Just read that analysts have stated that Apple are set to announce over 10 million iPhone sales in the quarter ending in September.

If true then that's shockingly good. The initial launch of iPhone 4 wouldn't even be counted in those as the iPhone 4 was launched in the Previous Quarter to this one This quarter started like 4 days after the iPhone 4 launch, by which time they'd all sold out, and have been DEADLY to get hold of since - so it's astounding that so many have sold when they were so hard to find for months.

Not bad for a phone that anti-apple fanboys said everyone was "returning as they can't even make calls" (seems Steve Jobs was right when he says the issue was just blown up by those with an agenda).

Well world users, have demoed the phone , realised that the problem was not an issue, and bought it in their droves.

The same quarter last year (iPhone 3GS) had Apple sell 6.9million iPhones. This quarter a year later could be 10-12 million

Whilst I agree the issues have been over exaggerated, I can only see this thread going one way

Just proves, if you hype it up enough it will sell !

The iphone is a good phone, but there are many out there now just as good.

I don't have one, there are a few at this place that do tho, some have sold them on and gone over to Android, and another is so fed up with it being 'locked down' has jailbroken his to make it do what HE wants it to do and not 'Apple' !

High sales don't mean anything.

Plenty of incredibly popular products have severe design flaws, yet have very high sales.

Remember how many X boxes were sold that were faulty ? It never stopped people buying them.I don't know many people who bought the new one but most of them have had to return it for a replacement. They've just tried to flood the world with enough to appease everyone and there was bound to be a percentage of faulty ones.It certainly hasn't affected their sales.

Only as a balance to iPhones being the 'holy grail'.

I'm sure overpriced phones like the Galaxy S and Desire HD have similar crapness.

In the financial world Q4 often ends in September (year end).

For donkeys years ive always looked down upon Apple as crap. But since ive had this iPhone 4 ive loved it that much that im thinking of getting my parents an iPad, my nephew an iPod Touch and been thinking about getting a Mac for my next computer.

This is the first iPhone I have had. I didn't bother with the earlier versions as they didn't have the functionality I wanted. Now they do.

I have used Macs though since 1998/99 when I got my first iMac (you remember the G3 multicoloured ones.) I still have it and it still works! I think that they make good tech that pretty much lasts (though I think there was a bit of a wobble around the iPod 3rd generation).

No issues re reception for me either, the lock button did get a little stiff, but I took it in store and they just gave me a new phone instead so I'm happy.

I'm not either extreme when it comes to apple. Not their biggest fan but don't hate them either. Have an iPad and iPhone 3G myself but I couldn't get the iPhone 4 on the principle that it's a phone that has antenna issues! Especially considering the price. Have a colleague who is a big Apple fanboy and he ended up returning his iPhone 4!

Im at breaking point with this stupid bloody itunes. If i could use my iphone without i would. I used to use itunes 9 until 4.1 and meant we need to move to itunes 10. But there is nothing i can do to sync my contacts or appointments. Any advice because apple are f*****g useless and i am losing patience

It is, but that isn't really relevant when we're talking about a company based in the US.
