The Saturdays to re-release Headlines.

I've just read on their official website..
http://www.thesaturdays.co.uk/news/expanded-headlines/

That they're releasing Headlines, with some added wordshaker tracks.
Now, their reason for doing this is for their new fans, who haven't heard their old material.

Which, I agree with.
They were virtually unknown down my way untill 'missing you' and 'headlines' came out, and Wordshaker was such a good album, it's only right to incorporate more of them tracks into Headlines.

Full track listing is as follows:
1. Missing You
2. Ego
3. Higher
4. Forever Is Over
5. Died In Your Eyes
6. Karma
7. Puppet
8. One Shot (Starsmith Mix)
9. Here Standing
10. Lose Control
11. Deeper
12. Higher feat. Flo Rida

I'd love the see Lose control get a release
Just shows, IMO, how headlines has been a success for the girls.

^ What about Up, If This Is Love, Issues in particular...you hadn't heard of them before Missing You?

I think that their first album was the best, Chasing Lights is recommended as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't realise until yesterday that their management have made Wordshaker unavailable to download now. The only way people can get Wordshaker is to buy the CD.

I don't think Deeper should be on the re-release of Headlines, as I think it is the weakest song on Wordshaker. Wordshaker (the song) should be there instead.

I'm not saying me, I'm saying people down this way.

I knew them from 'If this is Love' when they first performed it on TMI.

Since then, i've attended 4 of their concerts, so don't go mis reading!

Anyways, well this is going to be a wintery album, so a couple more ballads are only correct.

Great news.

Before anyone goes ahead and says "oh, what a rip off, those three new tracks were already on Wordshaker" I highly doubt this album is even aimed at those who bought Wordshaker. This is clearly to try and attract new fans. Wordshaker only sold around 70K, there's still thousands and thousands of people who haven't heard these three tracks and probably won't even know they were on the second album. This is a very smart move. If this does well, which it should, then the label will make up for the losses they had with Wordshaker and they should hopefully make a reasonable profit as well. They'll get tons of sales from this - especially as it's approaching Christmas - without even recording any new songs.

Plus, if we want the Headlines era to continue we need to add new songs. Clearly Puppet/Died In Your Eyes/Karma/One Shot aren't good enough in the labels eyes to be a single, and thus by putting on these new songs it means they have more single options to choose from.

Deeper is pretty filler, however Lose Control is a real pop anthem and Here Standing is a fantastic Christmas ballad, with a massive chorus. The latter will probably be the next single since it's a ballad and they usually sell albums. This can only benefit The Sats, the management and will hopefully attract new fans. This isn't aimed at the 70K who bought Wordshaker.

I think Denial should be on there instead of Deeper.

Deeper is probably only on the album because the girls wrote it. I think if they needed a third track to put on they could have went for Wordshaker, Open Up or 2am.

I first got into The Saturdays when I heard that song too. Heard it on a music channel one day in summer 2008 and thought it was great. Then I started at uni and a month later Up came out. I was hooked but Up reminds me of my first year there so that might be why I like it so much

They probably put it on there just because they wrote it (makes them look good)... its an okay song, not the best.

What about some new material for the fans that have been with them since the start?
And why weren't these extra tracks from 'Wordshaker' included on 'Headlines' to begin with?..

Lol how pathetic. These girls need to learn that there's more to the music business than constantly needing to be in the charts.

their management need to learn that, more than the girls.

How pointless - squeezing every penny from a lacklustre album and EP. I bet they now say they're working on their "4th album"! what a bunch of *****

That would be a good idea. Maybe they were waiting to see how successful Headlines was, I don't know really.

I think the management want to extend this era, and since none of the tracks left on Headlines are particulary amazing, they've put on songs from Wordshaker since no one has really heard them anyway and they would work better as singles. Here Standing is just crying to be released.

I'd love for that song to be released mid/late-november for Xmas.

as the girls have said, many a time, the 3rd full album is in process. This mini-album was a gift to the fans almost.

They gave this album out to keep their fans going for the next 7 or so months untill album no.3s out.

So it only seems right, now they've given their fans some new tracks, they attract some newer fans with music they'd never of heard of.
