A thirst quenching drink.
I've been looking for a drink that will actually quench a thirst and taste nice.
Water alone doesn't do it and adding lemon doesn't either. But I've finally found a drink that makes water better.
Spoiler
I heartedly recommend it for anyone who finds it difficult to drink water alone. |

Cider is a thirst quenching drink. Don't add water though.

Strongbow quenches the thirst while you are drinking it but the alcohol dehydrates you out afterwards. Oasis is too sugary. |

The best thing I drank one year when on holiday and had a really bad thirst was blue Slush Puppy!
Not the healthiest thing, or the most appetising to look at, but it did the trick. |

Milk chilled to just a degree or two above freezing point
a large brandy in it also works well as a pick me up.

Well I've just tried both the Robinson's and Asda home brand Pink Grapefruit and Barley squashes and unfortunately they are not quite as nice as the Coop's home brand, which had a slightly sharper taste.
Still nice compared to orange or lemon squash. |

The trouble with squash and other commercial drinks is that you don't know what additives they've got in them. They contain artificial sweeteners and colours. As does most ciders too. Cold water with a slice of lemon is your best bet.

I'll second cranberry juice, has to be sugar free thou, and NOT that aufull sugar water that is Ocean Spray. Wonderfully refreshing, and good for you.
ASDA sugar free cranberry is one of the best I have found, 20% juice no sugar. P.S. Do NOT buy asda smart price cranberry. It's basically pink water! |

To make tapwater more refreshing put a few slices of cucumber into a jug, top with tapwater and place into the fridge until well-chilled.
Believe me it really works and makes the water taste better and feel more refreshing and quenching. |
