If I was going to be on national television (god forbid) I would want to sound reasonably well-spoken and not like an uneducated ignoramus.

Perhaps my standards are unreasonably high but it is really a very, very basic concept of the english language and not exactly complicated to grasp.
I believe they even teach it in primary schools.

Maybe I misheard, but I think last week she did say "you were", so it was a bit of a shock to hear her say "You was" again, twice.

Presumably: that it's pretty shocking she still fluffs basic grammar like this when a) she's a native speaker and b) her job (or, one of her jobs) is being a commentator on prime time BBC.

Alesha is a Martyr to grammar. She'll go down in a long line of martyrs to the vernacular like Wycliffe and Tyndale and is more persecuted than Guido Fawkes.

Well, yes. Grammar exists and sticking to it correctly isn't very difficult; it's expected of everyone, particularly the people working as commentators on the BBC.
