I’ve been scratching my head (it’s not nits, you understand) trying to figure out who Scott reminds me of... and on watching Natalie and Scott’s corking routine on Saturday night, I had an epiphany - Scott IS clunky Chris Penn in Footloose! Even down to recreating some of Penn’s classic moves:

Granted, Scott is miles better than Penn's character, but there is something endearingly clunky and country-boy in his manner.

Every year there is some theme for wardrobe.
Often hard to see.

I think someone on ITT alluded to Grease, which makes me think that 80s musical might be the theme.
Or teen musicals in general
