I didn't see a thread for John. I don't think he has a hope of winning but think he deserves an appreciation thread, I enjoyed his performance last night and think he has talent. He really does seem to be the least known contestant...

I love John and think he's been extremely hard done by. Poor sod is far too normal for this lot. He's got a lovely voice but the fact he's not bonkers, gay, got a sob story or a diva means he's got no hope

John to win. Partially because I'm annoyed with the producers meddling with things to stop acts from being popular, and partially because he seems like a lovely guy with a great voice.
I doubt Louis will get much better with the song choices though.

Louis has got to give him different song next week to show his vocals which at times in his performance were outstanding.

Delighted John was one of the first to be called safe this week.

Not sure what the theme is next week but he needs to do soemthing more current and up tempo. Seeing as John Legend was on the Xtra Factor last night, why not give John one of his songs?

Sigh of relief when they called John's name.... Hope he gets a suitable song next week to showcase what he can do...something smiley and upbeat

Happy John got through. I was worried for him so was pleasantly surprised when his name was called early.

I actually cheered when they called out his name. I doubt he'll win but, I hope he's given the opportunity to show off his voice on the live shows.

I think he's got a great chance of winning the show and I'll be voting for him regardless of the favouritism towards curtain acts.

I really like John and think he's got a lovely voice. Lets hope Louis picks him a great song next week, I want him to stay in.

What was Simon talking about when he said the song wasn't a proper #1? It was #1 in America for 16 weeks, the longest reigning #1 ever!

Simon knew it was number one in America he just tried to sway the vote against him to get him out of the show early, won't work with me because I'll still keep voting.regardless of his tactics.

I can't believe Louis didn't stick up for John, i'm sure Louis knew it was #1. Surely even Dannii or Cheryl knew it.

Hope people pick up their phones and vote for him. I always feel he is in danger of being bottom in the bottom 2/3. Hope he doesn't tomorrow. It would be a travesty if he were to be.

He stood out tonight as being one of the few who could manage the song they were given.

I'm not usually a fan of simple, laid back performances like that but I really did enjoy John's performance. It looks like people are beginning to notice and appreciate his singing now.

But I still think he needs to sing something current. 'A Song For You' was amazing but for long term in the compitition I think he'll need to try and appeal to the younger audience, maybe 'Crawl' by Chris Brown or something by Jason Derulo? I think he could even pull off 'Use Somebody' by Kings of Leon, maybe 'Billionaire' again...lots of possibilities, imo.

If we are to believe that this is a singing contest then John has to be there next week, best performance by a mile loved it more votes coming for you John!

John is in my top 3.

I like quite a few this year but really wish Louis would give him something to show off his voice. Today was a great performance but I'm sure there is more there with the right song.

He's very good.

The problem is his image, he's been lumbered with the oldies and is being given old fashioned Boyz II Men/Luther songs that are making him come across more forty than thirty.

He's young, good looking, seems to be able to move really well and by all accounts is quite a good rapper to. And while I don't actually think rap is the way he should go they should push him down a more modern route, a bit more Justin and JLS.

I think people might start to take more notice.
