I do wish people wouldn't take Ann so seriously

She's not spoiling the show - she won't be in it long enough.

The BBC knew Right From The Start that putting Ann Widdicombe into the series was to add the 'light' touch: she would never be serious, could never be a graceful winner - but - but everybody last year was moaning like hell about "having to view a bunch of nobodies" so they put in Ann, who is definitely a known figure. A fuller figure, yes, and not another Alesha or Rachel, but you can't have everything.

Whoever choreographed Ann and Anton's salsa did an excellent job - we knew it was going to be "aweful", we knew it couldn't be a sizzling salsa, but it was pure fun. Anton did not camp up the routine more than he had to, and managed to remain a foil to someone who is unable to bounce a football, let alone bounce around like one.

It was funny. The audience and judges laughed but the power is with the general public - they will not let another Sergeantgate ruin Strictly - My guess (and I haven't watched this Sat part 2 alias Sunday evening show yet; so please DON'T correct me if she's gone out already) - my guess is that she will go out in Round 2 or Round 3 max - not even Anton's fan club could keep her in longer.

Meanwhile, let's just enjoy the one comic act as a foil to the 12 or 13 other more serious efforts (I don't think Paul Daniels has high expectations, and Peter goalkeeper shouldn't).

At least Ann knows she is a rubbish dancer unlike the deluded Craig Kelly who thought he was God's gift to dancing last year!
