Do you think the judges are rather harsh on Felicity. I think she dances beautifully.

I thought the comments were reasonable - and I say this as someone that really wanted to like her and Vincent as he happens to be my number one pro.

But there's something missing from this partnership and the dancing hasn't been all that memorable so far. Felicity hasn't got as much oomph as I thought she'd have.

Mind you, it's only round one. Some celebrities take a while to warm up.

Did you see her face when she was described as "stately". I don't think that's how she sees herself or wants others to see her but she's not elfin-faced Barbara Good any more is she - something that's painfully obvious in HD!

I was hoping she would be good but althought she is not horrendous and I like watching her a lot more than some of them.......she has been a dissapointment.

I don't know the result yet as I avoid spoilers but I think she was damned with faint praise. .

Me and my sisters used to shuffle our bottoms across the living room floor to Shape Up And Dance With Felicity Kendal! This was in the days when fitness recordings came in vinyl! Really hope she can relax and pull off a great performance.

I thought I would like her a lot more than I do. She's one of those "prim and proper" type dancers. And she doesn't seem to be enjoying it very much.

I thought she brought a nice, elegant lady-like quality to the foxtrot that worked rather well - but perhaps I'm just getting old!

There have been a lot of nasty comments about her appearance, but I think she looks well. Felicity said that she doesn't have a "cute" personality like Barbara last week. I think felicity is quite reserved really, and I hope she comes out of her shell.

There are so many larger than life characters involved in the show, and with all the props and flashy gimmicks, maybe Felicity's performances are at the moment coming over as a little lacklustre.

The foxtrot was fine for a second dance, and I think Vincent must has been working really hard to help Felicity actually remember the steps! She seems to be doing that now, so perhaps they will now begin to work on "selling" the dances if they go any further in the show.

They have only had two dances so far, and not everybody will be able to get everything to click first time.

I dont think her dance was that good and seemed rather slow. Also you watch her try to frown or move her forehead.........suspiciously like an overdose of botox

I thought her first dance was classy, but there was something missing from the foxtrot for me, just a little personality maybe.

I think the media have hyped her up too much before Strictly started and we have all been expecting too much too soon! Give her time and she might get better - I always think of her as Barbara Good as I haven't really seen her in anything else!

I agree that there was so much hype surrounding Felicity before she'd even stepped foot on the dancefloor that people are expecting too much too soon.

However I do think that the judges have been overly critical to Felicity compared to some of the other celebs. I DO agree that there's a little something missing from her & Vincent's performances, BUT their routines are beautifully danced.

I think she's good, but has areas which need improvement, the main one being to really get into the mood of the dance and give us more of a performance, however I think that will come as her confidence increases and negativity from the judges isn't likely to help that

I think it was the judges' lack of real encouragement to Felicity that surprised me.

perhaps the felicity kendal that we all know and love is a sham and she's a right cow in private

I've no idea, but she looks dreadfully thin and with the resultant exaggeration in the creping of the skin which comes with advancing years, she looks a damn sight older than 64.

Dunno why some go on about "how young she looks." She doesn't.

I think her hair and body look young but have to agree about the face she looks a lot older than 64

I'm quite surprised at her (seeming) lack of popularity with the judges.

Her place as the nation's (older ) sweetheart seems to have been thoroughly usurped by Pamela Stephenson.

She's not coming across brilliantly, tbh, though I can't quite put my finger on why. A bit haughty, maybe? She doesn't seem very warm (which of course is in direct contrast to her famous role in the Good Life!)

At a certain age, and without surgical intervention, it's a choice of face or figure. Felicity chose figure which is probably a good choice for her as these days she spends most of her working life on the stage some distance from her audience. Unfortunately it's not such a good choice when you have an HD camera peering at your every flaw.

Or you just want to look your age instead of looking like you just walked out of Madame Tussaud's. Sometimes plastic surgery is a big mistake.

People probably expected too much of Miss F.K. Don't assume that all luvvies are great dancers. In golfing parlance she is probably a 12 handicapper. She would have been better doing a ball room dance first and then the cha cha when she had loosened up a bit - in any case the foxtrot does not exactly have the wow factor and the music they danced it to wasn’t that exciting either. If they dance the Rumba next week they could really shine because it is an actor’s dance and Felicity can blag it.

Ideally I would like F.K. to win the show outright but if she gets to the last six that would be pretty good and probably about as far as her abilities should take her, unless she does a Hollins and the public get behind her.

I think she hasn't been in the limelight as much, and her Foxtrot wasn't that good (the music was dull for FX; very forgettable) so I hope with her Rumba and (Tango?) she will shine, because I really hope she can do a Chris Hollins and just get more excited to be there!

Is her appearance actually relevant at all? There are certainly a lot of bitter people on here.

Donna I totally agree with your post. I too think the judges are really too critical of her.

Barbara Good was a scripted character not a person in real life.

Felicity Kendal is not BG...She is and has always been an excellent actress and has many successes on the stage.

I love her in Rosemary & Thyme which shows her versatility as an actress....

She is 64 years old and a fine looking women for her age. Yes a bit sedate but that is Felicity Kendal ......... not scatty BG .....

I love her dancing and think she will settle in when the judges get off her back.
