Getting pictures off a Samsung GT-E2120?
Bedsit Bob

My neighbour has a Samsung GT-E2120?

I've obtained the lead for connecting it to the computer, to get the pictures off the phone.

However, when I plug it in, it doesn't recognise it.

Is there a driver/program I need

Are you absolutely sure you have the correct cable? As there are two very similar Samsung cables. (they even have similar model numbers)

Did you set the phone to mass storage?

One of the Samsung mobiles I've got doesn't appear to have a compatible cable so I normally bluetooth photos to my Sony Ericsson W890i using that to link to my PC.

You may need the PC studio suite this link takes you to the page

I got one of those "multi-plug" cables, with 10 different plugs on it.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a connection, because I get the "working" hourglass when I connect up, but the phone doesn't appear in My Computer.

Thanks.

I'm downloading it now, and will try it tomorrow.

I'll stick my neck out and say that it's not the solution

To me it still sounds like the OP is using a 10UBE cable, not a 10BBE. (They look identical, its the wiring which is different)

OK.

I've obtained another cable, and installed the program.

When I connect up the phone, it powers up, and I get a bleeping noise from the computer, in much the same way I do when I plug my dongle in.

However, it doesn't say there's been a connection established.

Do I need to change a setting in the phone, or something

Have you set the mobile to mass storage?

Samsung are a bugger when it comes to cables, the cable for a GT-B3410 won't work with a GT-S3100. Suggest you contact Samsung Support.
