I didn't like it at all. I'm not um... up in arms or anything extreme, but if the results show is going to be rubbish, I'd rather see it on Saturday night so I don't have to stop what I'm doing for 30 seconds on Sunday.

It felt quite disjointed and messy, Claudia seems to thrive in a live TV situation which didn't help matters, IMO.

I went thru quite a few series of strictly, knowing that Sunday's show was recorded, but never thinking or trying to find out the result.
Contrary to what we think, we DSers form quite a small part of the total audience.

I won't be watching another results show - I'll get the result off the internet. IMHO Tess doesn't have a big enough personality to carry the presenting on her own, Claudia was under used. I don't like the format of how they announce the results - too bitty. Shame really as I thought the main show was good.

I won't be watching next week either. It was painful to watch them split the vote decisions over 30 minutes. Why not do it all together at the end?

Claudia may as well not have been there. Tess was fine but nothing special.

I still don't understand the point of the dance troup. Has there been a piece about the new dancers in it that I have missed. I find it odd that they just come on, we have a brief glimpse of Darren and the lovely Ian then off they go again.

I was mightily disappointed in the results show - it just didn't live up to the excitement of the main shows this series, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. I can't believe that poor Ian and Darren have been consigned to the dance troupe with absolutely no introduction at all. They are too good for this! Plus, we've lost Matt Cutler, Brian Fortuna and Lilia because of this innovation. I've no idea who the other show dancers are - is the whole thing being sidelined because of the controversy caused by the decision to keep some of the pro dancers back for the show dances?? I'm not at all impressed by the three new male dancers on the show, and feel it was all very unnecessary.

Claudia was underused, and the contrast between her clothing and Tess's was incomprehensible. They looked so wrong together!! The audience have to dress up to be in the Strictly studio, but Claudia looked like she was wearing her lounging at home clothes.

Like many other posters, I did not like the breaks between the giving out of results - it was horrid for the dancers and it was irritating to the viewers. I missed the dace off, and I fear we're going to lose a really good dancer early on now that the judges cannot save anyone.

I hate complaining about Strictly, as it's something I look forward to enormously each week. The previous Sunday results show was worth tuning in to. But this one was just awful, and there are only so many highlights of previous action I can cope with looking at.

By the way - Robbie looked such a numpty with his "dancing"...

Yes that was very good, I assume the pro dancers will grow in numbers over the weeks as more get eliminated.

From the launch of this series they said the changes would include more pro dances but we had just one at the weekend, they could have easily given us a couple of dances and not strung out the elimination which was plain daft in 3 parts.

I thought Claudia would be a good addition but sadly not She hardly did anything and as for what she was wearing ? What's more when she tried to dance with Tess at the end that was cringeworthy

I thought it was awful and as much as I like Claudia I don't feel it worked having her and Tess together. It seemed artificially drawn out.

I can't believe how much I hated this week's Sunday show ... especially given that in the past it's always been something I've looked forward to ... 2007 and 2008 Sunday shows were fabulous filled with amazing pro dances, the chance to see the couples reflect on their earlier performancs and the tension of the results, subsequent dance off, wondering what silly decision the public/judges will make this time.

Now I know not everyone was a fan of the pre-recorded sunday results in the past, and I know that not everyone liked the dance off but I'm fairly sure that most of us can agree that last night's show was in no way comparable to previous sunday show offerings ...

For me they need to:
... ditch the stupid staggered saves, and go back to just leaving the unsaved couples to the final two ...
... have backstage footage of the couples talking about how well/badly they've done in the VT round up of the Saturday Show ...
... Have at least two pro dances showcasing what dances are coming up, interspersed with interviews with Claudia of the top and bottom dancers from the night ...
... A good music act ... seriously, Robbie was awful last night, and what on earth were the pro-girls doing strutting around him??? ... that is not strictly!
... re-instate the dance off ... BUT ... instead of giving Len the deciding vote, if the judges can't make up thier minds who the better dancer is go back to the phone vote allowing the more popular dancer to be saved ...
... I don't mind Brucie being absent ... but if they are insisting on making the couples do the stupid "keep dancing" thing then why can't clauds and tess do it as well?

If they are bothering to have a Sunday Show the important thing is that we want to tune in to watch ... with no dance off, and no spectacular pro dancing what is the point in wathching ... however we choose to find out the result, we are hardly missing anything not watching the show!

I can see us losing loads of really decent dancers this year as a result of the loss of the dance-off, and the changes to the points system implemented after the Tom fiasco ... ties on the leaderboard (and given that three of the judges are incabable of scoring below 5 for almost anything, there are always ties on the leaderboard) mean that it's much much easier to save poor dancers than it was in the past (pre-dance-off) and given that the public disproportionately vote for people they want to save who are low down on the leaderboard than higher up we're going to lose better dancers way more easily than before ... if the judges were upset in the past that they had to choose from two good dancers in the dance-off, they're going to be properly annoyed that dancers are going to leave without any chance of being saved!

... the producers really need to implement some changes before they lose their audience ... they can't let another week go by without making the show watchable!

It's strange- I thought Saturday's show was great.
And sunday was such a let down.

The only redeeming factor was that it was half an hour long.
DWTS manages to string it out to an hour!

In fairness to DWTS it's 30 minutes of TV strung out with 30 minutes of ads.

If they are going to have a seperate results show then why not make it Saturday night around 9.45pm just ahead of the news & MOTD - that way it could still be live.

Emma I also wondered what happened to the pieces they used to do to camera in the back after their dance which was always shown on the results show.....that would have been better than just a rehash of both weeks dancing.

What thread was your post on Jan?
Have to agree with you though that no matter how many complaints they read they won't admit that they could be wrong.
Does anyone know how long things usually take to get on Iplayer.

Having a RECORDED live show is plain stupid.

I wasnt a dance-off fan as it gave the judges too much power - but at least it gave me a reason to watch the Sunday show - how there is none at all.

I saw POV earlier, Jan. Didn't realise one of the letters was from you.

I don't think they read out one positive comment about the Results Show, did they?

The producer's response wasn't really a reply at all, it just stated what they are doing and claimed that it was exciting!

I'm not going to wach it tonight. It's not worth 30 minutes of my time. I hate the way they announce the bottom 2 in bits over the show and I hate the anti-climax of finding out who is going just through an announcement with no dance off.

The chance of a brief glimpse of Ian as he whirls past the camera in the dance troupe is not enough to make me switch on.

Sunday's show is such a waste of time. Why drag it on so long just to announce the result. At least have some more professional dancing. There is no suspense, might have been, had the results been live on Saturday, as in the good old days. I feel sorry for the celebs and professionals to have to put up with so much hanging about.

Al that we can hope for is that the BARB audience figures show a drastic fall from last week, and if they stay with this format then another big drop next week. That should make them sit up and take notice.

The Sunday ratings should be announced from maybe 9:30 am onwards tomorrow.

If anyone knows the result from the Spoiler thread then the Sunday show is a waste of time

I never thought I would say this but I think they should bring back the dance off but do what some other posters have suggested and don't let moany Len have the deciding vote - if its a tie then go to the phone votes

I checked the spoiler thread as I wanted to know who left without having to sit through the Results Show. Now I do I can use that 30 minutes to do something else.

I know loads of folks disliked the dance off but if the SCD team want a separate results show (as opposed to doing the results on Sat night) then they really have to make it more exciting. At least the dance off was thrilling even if you didn't always agree with the results

Hi

Reinstating the dance off would cause all sorts of trouble (though I would be in favour of it). I am not sure what the answer is but then again I don't get paid to figure that out. The SCD Team do!

The results show is rubbish. Dragged out, mostly pointless, the lack of a dance-off kills any real tension, there's no incentive for the two lowest couples to take heed of the judges' comments and try to improve their ability in the dance-off. That was the point of it! The judges would see if there were any improvements and score accordingly.

The producers of this year's SCD have shot themselves in the foot dropping the dance-off. But it does give DS users like myself a good reason to post moany comments like this.
