sorry if this subject has been posted before, took me ages to find this forum!

anyway, Alex Epstein claims he originally conceived an idea similar to the bendy bus. his age is stated as 26 [ie: he was born in 1984]. so why is his idea anything special?

quote from Wikipedia:

Bendy Bus
Articulated buses have been used in most European countries for many years. Until 1980, they were illegal on roads in the UK. Experiments by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, with buses by MAN and Leyland-DAB during 1979, led to a change in the law, but the experiment was abandoned in 1981 because double-decker buses were generally considered less expensive to purchase and operate. end quote.

i grew up in Sheffield and remember using a Bendy Bus well before Alex was born.

Alex will find himself quizzed alot about that piece of puff, if not on the YF show, then in post-show interviews. Like Monkseal said in his blog, it's not the best thing to outlandishly claim to have invented!

I don't take what they say in the introductions too seriously. It's just the usual self-puff they spout out, that the producers encourage, which are then used in the introductions. He probably made a playdough bus when he was a kid and bent it out of shape - that's the only explanation I can think of .

I think we're all looking forward to find out what he meant lol
Maybe as a child, there was something made of plywood and cardboard - a Wendy Bus.

Many of the candidates puff up their experience, job titles only held for a few months and even then not quite what you'd have thought they mean. But Alex's claim is definately one of the most gob smacking ever. Last year's James put loads of stupid things in his application in order to stand out. 'But not as a prat' replied Claude.
Maybe Alex missed the last bit?

It did get noticed and ridiculed back here

but it's a page back and not obvious from the subject.
