It just struck me that Cheryl made a MAJOR error on Saturday night, unless she did it accidentally on purpose.
After Treyc's performance, she backed up Simon's comments by saying something along the lines of 'I can't believe you were overlooked' before mumbling something as though she realised she'd messed up.
After all, Cheryl was the one who SUPPOSEDLY chose the girls..... Can we take it then that Cheryl's comments confirm ONCE AND FOR ALL that the judges have absolutely NO SAY whatsoever in picking their acts - that it is all done at a much higher level and has nothing to do with the acts' performances at judges' houses. Would make sense given how poorly Cher and Katie did at that stage.
Or did Cheryl deliberately say that to show she had no say in not putting Gamu through, and therefore to remain Britain's sweetheart??????

It makes me wonder too, if she did have a complete say so surely she wouldn't be stupid enough to come out with that line. Maybe she did give the game away

I mean, I know we all know the whole thing is a pantomime, but a bit of integrity wouldn't go amiss

Of course the finalists are picked before the Judge's House charades ... Simon says so Simon gets. However on this occasion ... wasn't Cheryl talking about TreyC not being successful last year?

So why all the histrionics and lies about Gamu's elimination being "all down to Cheryl"? She must be SEETHING to have had death threats through no fault of her own.
Thinking about it, she looked mighty hacked off this weekend

Her elimination was nothing to do with Cheryl ... and I don't know why some people can't get it through their heads that it wasn't her fault. I firmly believe that there is stuff she wants to say and due to contracts or whatever ... cannot!

I honestly don't think she even liked Katie or wanted her through. But the publicity is working ... so Simon does know his stuff!

I agree with you completely. But you can now understand Cheryl's frustration at her image being tarnished by the whole thing - she has a record coming out remember and can't afford to be seen as the villain

But she chose to take the Devil's shilling! On moral ground ... she could speak out ... but like everyone else involved with this show ... she's thinking about her pay-packet at the end of the day. Personally I don't blame her ... but she has to take the rough with the smooth.

haha, I like it. And of course you're right. She has made her own bed. She must still be hacked off though. And I don't see how they can fix it while Katie Fakie is still in. She needs to get behind Rebecca and Treyc now

Cheryl also mentioned that she was with the girls for 2 days at the judges house, and that it was the editing that caused much of the debate. Implies that she had no authority over the editing. If the judges knew about the wild card prior to chosing their 3 then they would have been more careful what they said to their 4th pick.

Three of the judges had an act in the bottom 3, not one of those being their wild card pick, says it all. It would have been more interesting if the public had been able to chose the wild cards for each judge from those discarded at the judges houses. I suspect Gamu would have beaten TreyC who is likely to turn out to be the most popular of the girls.

Yes, agreed. Cheryl is a puppet and will have to deal with the flak she gets. Let's hope her new single flops as a result.

Yes, it's about time someone had the guts to spill the beans on what really goes on, risking a lawsuit in all probability, but it would bring Cowell down a peg or two

Proof? Or just a wild guess It is a bit like the England manager picking the team in his head and then inviting a few more to training to see if anyone else really shines. And even if they DO shine going with his original instincts anyway.
So she MAY have got it wrong, but at the end of the day it was up to HER not us, so let us sit back and wait and see. Maybe she thought TreyC was very good but not DIFFERENT.

Cheryl sold herself out. Made a deal with the devil for fame and fortune and has to take whats coming to her. She surely could never have really believed she was the biggest thing since sliced bread.
They built her up, now are slowly but surely starting to knock her down. There are new kids on the block. Move over Miss Tweedy.

I believe Cheryl checks with Simon as regards to who she puts through, I don't think the same can be said of Danni and Louis though.

She won't go down without a fight though. Ask that toilet attendant

She's either thick and was just copying what Simon said without understanding what she was saying or she is telling us something.

I don't think she was telling us anything. I'd go with your first suggestion, she's thick and copying Simon, her puppetmaster. She's not well known on the panel for saying anything original of her own. She's limited to only 3 sentences and she struggles with them.

Well I'm more inclined to go with the first suggestion aswell. I said as much after she said it.
