I love Turkey … It must be a recent thing to not buy Lira here, although when we were there, the shops/markets preferred Stirling or the Euro.
When are you off?

Evening Lovely Foggie.:+))))))))))))))

Going early Sunday, it's just that it seems the Turkish government are trying to reign in the inflation problem, maybe they want it sorted before they try to get in the EU.

I don't think it will be a problem to us, we can get change over there for where it's needed.

Hiya Foggie and Hicky – we used Euros in Turkey, too. The prices were in both Lira and Euros.

Edit: Thought I would have a picture showing it.

I see what you mean, i will see what the rates are like as it would be easier to bring any excess home in Euro's of GBP because i don't think they are letting Turkish Lira out.

EDIT:
Was looking at the rates.
£100 to Lira is 100 x 3.5 = 350 TL
£100 to Euro = 100 x 1.2352 = 123.52 euro
123.52 euro to TL is 123.53 x 2.84 = 350 TL
Which makes it the same really.

India’s currency was totally closed but in that case sterling was the preferred swap.

It’s much more useful to have Euros around than Turkish Lira, which I don’t think you’ll need apart from small change.
