I've got loads of baby Olives on the tree, so pleased.

Strawberries are massive, just got to ripen.
The peas will be in abundance next week, the little one has had some off yesterday.

That's amazing about the olives, mine are still not flowering but my strawberries (about 2 feet away) are ripe ,I pick between 6-12 strawberries every day, isn't it amazing that your Olive tree is at a more advanced stage than mine and my strawberries are ripening quicker than yours , I'll miss the gardening chats when BB is over !

Olives need a particular way of growing, they like dry feet, they can stand very little water.
If you put a tree or plant in too big a pot too soon the plant won't flower as it thinks it is very happy so it keeps growing, trees only fruit when they need to produce seed.

My strawberries are very big, they are just turning red, i only have 10 plants and i only planted them a short time ago, they were just dry roots

I've been here posting for the last 9 years, almost every day, so unless someone pulls the plug i will be here.

A branch grew. from low down on one of my Fig trees, it was a nice branch but those winds the other week broke it off, i cut the leaves off it, cut the bottom off the branch, sliced the bark off the bottom 2" , dipped it in root gel and put it in a 6" pot.
It looked sad for 2 days but now the top has sat up and new leaves are forming so i'm made up.

I propagated one 2 years ago and gave it to a neighbour, it's now a lovely tree.

My Olive tree looks like this https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=...36126692871927 (pic 2 and 4) for weeks but the flowers have not arrived, what are you going to do with the olives, even if I get olives I won't eat them !!!
Fig tree sounds interesting, do you eat the figs ? Do they need treatment like olives or can you eat them off the tree?

Those pictures of the Olive tree looked like mine did when it was flowering, because the flowers come out in stages so will the fruit set the same so the fruit will be different sizes at one time.
I have loads of Olives although not all will survive, i love Olives myself so if they turn out i will do the necessary to nake them edible.

The figs can be eaten straight off the tree or you can slice and gently fry them as a pudding, they really are delicious.
the baby figs produced in one year will ripen the next year, in this country you can only get 1 harvest because our summers are too short.
And new baby figs that are on the plant when it is losing it's leaves in autumn have to be removed unless they are only the size of a pea, in which case they are next years fruit.
Last winter i had to take a bucket full of figs of the trees at my old place for the winter, heartbreaking stuff, you can't eat them either as they are not ripe and won't ripen off the tree.
