It should be a good week really.

My olives are growing, for now, they are half the size of a pea at the mo, the tree has shed a lot, probably the ones that never got pollinated but it's still looking good, mind you the tree is very small.

Yera, just thinking about your Olive tree, they usually start to fruit after 3 to 5 years.
They need 2 months of cold weather and fluctuating day and night temperatures to initiate flowering and fruiting.
Also they can't stand very cold winters.
They need to be either in an unheated place or you can wrap the trunk and head in fleece.
They are wind pollinated so must be outdoors during flowering.

They should be planted in John Innis No. 3 with added grit for better drainage.
of course they must be in a pot if you are going to move them to shelter in bad winters.

Thanks for that Hicky, I don't know how old it is, I bought a few exotics from a nursery that was closing down and the owner gave me a few extras including the Olive tree, checked it again yesterday and the flower buds look to be bigger but still no flowers , I am considering moving it as it is alongside the tunnel and it misses out on the evening sun , but it does get sun all day and the tunnel shelters it from the cuttung westerly winds we get here , generally its in good condition lots of branches and leaves just no flowers yet! It is about a foot and a half tall , how are your gooseberry's coming on? Very few berries on mine but it is its first year fruiting

Thats strange, flower buds, are you sure they aren't the Olives, it's too late now for flowers really.

I haven't got my Gooseberry bush, i left it at the other place because it was to big and thorny to move, haven't got a new one yet.
My Rhubarb plants grew so beg i went and got a neighbour to see what she wanted from it, the leaves were massive, this time when they grow again i'll defo make a crumble.

Yes, there is some good stuff to be had on the web.
Can't remember if i told you all ready.
I bought 2 baby fig trees early this year, 1 seemed to be coming along ok when i put it in a bigger pot 12", the other one was tall with a few branches but it never showed signs of taking to the move, i waited quite a while and still it stayed sort of dormant.
When i was talking to my tree supplier i mentioned that this tree was looking rather sad, he said let him know in October if it doesn't pick up, the same as some Raspberry canes i wasn't happy with, they will just replace anything that doesn't do well.
I decided to try something, i cut the tree in half leaving the bottom foot and gave it some feed, it came to life and all it's buds have turned into branches, it's like a miracle, very pleased with it.
Don't quite understand though.

Timebomb is not interesting me- as Joel said - big brother will decide how much the winner will walk away with , these little adding and subtracting efforts are just something to fill the housemates time with

So far today we have a dry day but the last 3/4 days we have had torrential downpours , a bit of sun would be nice for a change!

Quite often being drastic with a tree can force it into new growth.
I've done it before with a few trees, you have to be cruel to be kind.
If a tree isn't growing with branches how you want then cut off the trunk at a point where you can see it can grow new branches under the cut.

Weather not nice here today, won't see any sun till 6pm.
Just cloud and rain by the looks of it.

The timebomb is just a gag, i don't think it's serious.

Only 15C here but it could be a sunny day, some of the time.

Saw a Consultant yesterday, Urology, a side effect of the Anaesthetic i had for the Hip Op has stopped my Prostrate from working so need another Op, this will be my 5th, if you count (1) Appendix, '(2) AAA' (3) Kidney stone removal, (4) Hip Operation.

Life's all fun isn't it, thank heavens for the NHS.

Good morning lovely Hicky ...Sorry to hear you have to have another op ..I do hope they are going to do it soon and not keep you waiting too long.

I'm on an urgent list but you can wait 18 weeks.
But a cancellation may come up.
Had the problem since the Op in mid March.
