Bette Midler presents P!NK with Ally for Equality Award at HRC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuojW-rC1Sc

Amazing & beautiful speech by the lady herself, P!NK

but I did cry, haha.

but seriously
she is such an inspiration, not only to gay people, but to everyone, no matter who they may be, she inspires and speaks out for everyone, black, white, big, small, gay, straight. and thats one thing i love about her.

she's not just a singer/songwriter/performer/celebrity. she's a campaigner and a role model. she uses her celebrity status, not for publicity or for money, but to stand up for what she believes in, not many celebrities do that, do they? although, i think some do, but for more publicity, but that's just my opinion, but she doesn't do it for publicity, she does it because she believes in it.

she's helped me, like many others, in coming-out and realising that it's not wrong to be a lesbian and it's other peoples' problems if they don't like it, not my own and i shouldn't have to hide it or to be ashamed of it or change who i am for anyone.

so, like many others, when people say, why do you love pink so much? i'll say not only because she's an amazingly talented singer, but i'll show them this video, and then say 'do you get it now?' because my god I don't know where I'd be, or what state i'd be in without her.

thankyou, pink, for being who you are and for being strong enough to stand up for people who may not have the courage to stand up for themselves.

If you click on the Bette Midler video you can see the tribute video

I've always liked P!nk. She's not afraid to stand up for what she believes in.
