Brilliant Impact tonight, love when they go out on the road.

Should have gone too specsavers, should have been the Challenge one.

LOL TNA. Bobby Roode should have known better than try to upstage Hulk Hogan!

Swerving the internet= more important than making sense in TNA land.

Dumb finish in the Main Event.

In general the show was fairly average.

How is Angle retaining not make sense? Sure I would have liked Roode to win the belt but I wasnt overly annoyed.

Im guessing you loved Hogan vs Sting then. Meltzer seemed to love it from his review.

I am done with TNA after last night. It wasn't the fact that Roode lost, it was the cheap way in which he lost and the way some of the other matches finished that made the "Biggest PPV of the Year" just another normal show to be honest.

Given the build up, Roode winning was the only outcome. The finish, which was weak, made Roode look like a loser. Even if he wins the title shortly, he really needed to win last night. Also Angle's physical wellbeing should have been another reason for Roode getting the Title.

Whether it's true of not, PWinsider were reporting that Hogan convinved management to keep the belt on Angle.

Only saw the second half of BFG (from Anderson vs. Bully Ray to Main Event) early as don't feel like sitting up late to watch it all. Will catch the first half on Wednesday night.

Just some thoughts on the matches I did see:

Anderson vs. Bully Ray was good. Well-paced, as you would expect from a veteran like Ray, some nice hardcore spots. Shame about the ending, but the rest was good.

Divas bout was very disappointing. Do not know what it is with TNA and their total aversion to having a proper fatal four-way match, instead we have to have these nonsensical tag matches. Oh well, at least Velvet Sky winning was the best outcome.

AJ Styles vs. Daniels was OK. Better than their slow match at Destination X, not as good as their very fast-paced encounter on Impact a few weeks back. Some good story-telling but terrible ending.

Hogan vs. Sting. Not gonna lie or sugarcoat this...it was bloody brilliant. Far better than I expected, not a Hogan fan in the least but I marked out like a 10 year-old when he turned babyface. Excellent piece of theatre, and it says something to all the haters that they were able to put on a good show. Not gonna win any awards for pure wrestling, but from a storytelling perspective, absolute perfection, as the epic, Wrestlemania-esque pop proved.

Roode vs. Angle. Very disappointed by the outcome, although suspect we'll see Roode winning the belt sooner rather than later. If he wasn't going to win the belt, then Hogan/Sting should have closed the show, simple as that. Send the punters for your biggest show of the year home feeling happy, a very simple rule that TNA ignored. Regarding the match itself, it had some good moments, although Roode overused the crossface and the pacing was off - I suspect if Angle wasn't injured, it would have been a longer main event.

Looking forward to seeing the three matches I missed, have heard good things about RVD/Lynn.

Christ, that sums up everything that is wrong with TNA. A Wrestlemania-esque pop...with 2,500 people? Is that even possible.

Its been rightly ripped to shreds by pundits and the vast majority of fans. Hogan needs to go away and move on. The match never should have happened. It's 2011 and it was embarassing. It wasn't a good show they put on. It was slow, it was plodding and it was dull.

Theatre? The face turn made no sense at all and I actually burst out laughing

Hogan is not the draw anymore, Hulkamania is 30 years old, he's had his nostalgia run in the WWE, now its just ruining what has the potential to be a decent company

Once again, it's just the IWC being idiots and thinking they know what they're talking about more than the fans who actually pay to go to the shows.

The crowd ate Hogan's face turn up, they were behind him the whole night. Those sitting at home who weren't simultaneously on forums complaining about the evils of Russo ate it up as well; my Dad is a total casual wrestling fan, only ever watches it whenever I put it on, and he bloody loved it.

Hogan/Sting as a wrestling match was very poor, but as a spectacle it was great, as proved by the fact that it got the biggest pop of the night. Anyone who thought that it was going to be a pure wrestling match was a total idiot to begin with, and quite frankly I'm surprised no-one second guessed Hogan's face turn. I saw it coming ages ago, but it was still brilliant to see.

Totally agree. "Excellent piece of theatre" is a great way to describe it, the execution of the match and following action was fantastic. Im also not a Hogan fan, I think he's very arrogant, two-faced and puts himself before everyone else but you cant deny that he has that X Factor. The fact that when Hogan turned face and tore his t-shirt off got, by far, the biggest reaction of the night tells you everything.

The fact that he got by far the best reaction and stole the show at BFG, his match with Sting was the most anticipated of the PPV, the segments he's been in recently have mostly been by the highest on Impact and he gets invited on to the biggest shows on TV like American Idol (that gets 20m+ viewers) would say otherwise.


Just because everyone expected Roode to win doesnt mean he had to win. Roode wasnt jobbed out, he got screwed.

Im prepared to wait and see where the story pans out before getting annoyed. If Roode gets de-pushed and doesnt win the title then it will be stupid.

I rated it highly. I think it had a perfect mix of wrestling and entertainment or as a poster above so rightly referred to it as 'theatre'.

Every match ranged from great (Knockouts, SamoaJoe, RVD) to excellent (Angle/AJ/Aries&Kendrick/BullyRay)(I did feel sorry for Anderson at the end though) to pure fun (Hogan and Sting) It's outstanding the charisma that HulkHogan has still to this day. When he made his entrance, it was the biggest pop of the night but when he tore his top off, that reaction was incredible. Shit on him all you like, it is undeniable he is the biggest star in the history of this business.

To the people that continue to dog on TNA constantly, and use silly threats like 'im done with this company' then fine- sod off and stop watching it. If you didn't enjoy that show then you may as well give up on them because it obviously isn't for you. But the fact is, you won't give up or 'be done with it'. You'll be back watching next week and every week after that just to tell us again, how shite this company is (when it is probable, away from the internet you didn't actually hate it at all)

The Hogan match was fine for what it was. As for Hogan getting cheered, he will always get a big pop from the crowd, especially from a crowd who haven't seen him in a while like the philly crowd last night. As for whether Hogan is worth the alleged $35,000 a show for the limited effect he has on ratings, buyrates or attendance is up to your opinion. Personally, he ain't worth the cost.


Considering the build, he looked foolish. The end was a damp squib. Angles banged up, so you might as well go with Roode. Supposedly as late as Saturday he was going to win, but Hogan got the finish changed.

I watched Bound for Glory (one of the few PPV's ive watched this year and one of the only TNA PPV's ive watched in years!) and it was a really good show and well booked....until the last match.

When are bookers going to learn that a win at a big show is ten times more important for someones career than winning the next month or week at Impact. Same goes for WWE the amount of new champions that struggled to gain momentum because they didnt make the actual title win a big deal is astounding! Or worse yet they were built up and then suddenly teh rug was stripped from them (del rio!).

Stupid booking not to let roode win, he looks a bit of a joke now because he blew his chance and even worse is the crowd went home unhappy, something that should never happen at the biggest show of the year. Heels can win yes but the crowd MUST go home happy (Rocks peoples elbow on Stephanie and Miz at Wrestlemania 2000 and 27 respectively)

Thus hence the term supposedly.

Is it really that hard to believe that Hogan had some involvement with the finish being switched? He did make comments on a few shows he did to hype BFG that he felt Roode wasn't ready.

Sending people home happy is always a good thing to do. Especially at your biggest show of the year. If they weren't going to put Roode over, put the Hogan match on last.

Agreed on this. Tbh I'm not overly fussed that Roode didn't win, as his match with Angle was totally sub-par presumably due to Angle carrying an injury, so it would have been a damp squib of a victory anyway.

HOWEVER, Hogan/Sting should have closed the show if that was the case. No doubt about it. Even after Roode was pinned, I thought we were gonna see Hogan come out and restart the match or something. It just ended the PPV very flatly. The heels can win in the final match of a PPV, but it has to be done in a clever fashion EG. Austin's heel turn at X7.

Hogan vs. Sting was as good as it could have been, but it was still depressing to see Steiner and Bully Ray sell Hogan's punches. And it did overshadow the main event - it should have been put on earlier IMO.

The bigger problem with Angle vs. Roode was the time they were given. If they had to do a bullshit finish, at least give them 25-30 minutes so Roode comes out of it looking as good as he can.

Dixie Carter should have walked out after the bell rang and restarted the match, which Roode should have then won.

Putting hogan on last would have caused all kinds of grief but in the circumstances it did seems like Angle/Roode was the HHH/Orton of the PPV, being overshadowed by the bigger moment/match.


See i think he had to win for him to be legitimised, he just looks like a chump now and will be a lot harder for the guy to be taken seriously (personally i didnt seem him as champion material but the guy was pushed extremely well!)

Did think the PPV just kind of limped ofd at the end, Wrestlemania never limps off so why should Bound for Glory? Im not the biggest TNA fan but if they want to copy Vince at anything they should copy him at this one, Vince knows how to make Mania memorable and Bound for Glory had all the makings to do so but cause of the lameduck finish it tainted it a bit.

You will find that those who criticise TNA the most are often the ones who will stay up to the early hours watching every show live or as it airs in America and spend the most time/money reading or listenting dirtsheets about the company. Whether they actually like the product but have some sort of internet "persona" that they want to maintain or just get some strange enjoyment about the negatives of the company. I dont know.

Well Bryan Alvarez main "gimmick" was ranting about bad TNA- see Botchamania 164- though he hasn't done it for a while. I do find that pretty funny.

It doesn't really matter, Unless Spike cancels them- which seems unlikely- TNA will go on much as it has been, if you enjoy it great. In my 'umble opinion it is pretty absurd though
