She's only getting 10K! Wow, I thought Alesha's hold out for more!

I do wish Alesha would hurry up and learn to speak properly as I'm getting tired of waiting to start a string of threads accusing her of selling out, betraying her roots, generally getting above herself and putting on airs and graces etc etc  etc

Good point, very inconsiderate of her.

This could create a whole new divide, on a par with

I'm glad Arlene has gone / Bring back Arlene

I only heard her say it once - so far. She is trying!

Isn't it though? If only she'd oblige me I would create an incredible amount of infuriatingly similar threads on the subject that would make the infamous Bhoy's efforts to beat a subject to death seem half-hearted and tame by comparison

Well, you could start in advance.

Don't let mere facts get in your way, no-one else does.

I zap the sound everytime she opens her mouth.

Even if she has grammar problems of which annoy me at times. At least it's not me me me with Alesha. How would everyone feel if they were bitched to the press? I would be furious. Arlene was abusive to John Sergeant contary to his bad dancing. Alesha on the other hand tells it to their faces.

LOL! It's glass houses. Greenhouses isn't totally accurate since they're not all made of glass.

Anyway, she just said it there to Peter if anyone's interested.

Or maybe even recognise that both Alesha and Matt are just using the grammar of a particular UK dialect, that one is no better or worse than the other, and thus abandon this thread?”

Quite right Doug. It's so irritating when people say 'you was' instead of 'you were'. It's simple enough IMO.

At least she doesn't threaten to show her bum in Tesco...

It is fairly ironic that there are so many grammatical errors made by posters on this thread.

Unfortunately for this generation there are teachers in schools who use was when it should be were. It is it seems not something that teacher training establishments feel should be corrected.

I'm happy to volunteer and help Alesha with her grammar. Although I'm not a teacher and English isn't my native tongue, I'll give it a try. Doesn't matter how long it will take. I'm ready to sacrifice my precious time for the greater good that is Strictly.

I cringe when I hear the "you was" coming out from her, but other than that I think she is better this year than she was before.

Castanet, for the nth time, dialect grammar is a different grammar, not wrong grammar. If someone says "you was" every time, and an identifiable group of people share that way of speaking, it's a dialect. If that irritates you it's because the people who speak the dialect irritate you. Are you anti-yoof, anti-saaf-east, anti-Alesha as a person, or just anti anything and anyone that's different from you?

Tha wants te gerrover thisen, tha does.
Different dialect from Alesha's but I'm sure she'd echo the the sentiments.
