Broken Blackberry

Blackberry died yesterday morn - turned itself off and won't go back on. Everytime I try it gets stuck on the loading bar about 2/3 of the way through. Not the battery, tried a different one.

Person in shop has told me it's a software issue and to contact Orange. Here's where it gets interesting. I'm pretty sure my warranty will be void as my phone suffered water damage in July - had to claim on the insurance to get it fixed. Now even though it's months later and a different problem I'm sure Orange won't be interested which means claiming on insurance again (costs £50 excess everytime.)

Has anyone had the same problem and how easy is it to fix? Wondering if it would be better trying to get my phone fixed myself at a shop somewhere...

Had the same problem with a 9000 on Vodafone. It was still under warranty so they fixed it. Took a couple of days and they said it was a faulty chip.
