Where's the best place to pre-order a CD??
I heard that sometimes when you pre-order a CD online, it's dispatched early and you can receive it on the Friday or Saturday (2-3 days) before it's official release date.
Which site is this the most likely to happen with?? Is it one of HMV or Amazon? |

I've sometimes got it early from HMV. I remember when I ordered Timbaland's 'Shock Value' album it came on a Saturday. More recently, Tinie Tempah's album came on a Saturday too.

Amazon USED to. However for some reason they leave it late now..well for me anyway.
Woolworths are great. My copy of Pixie Lott's album is released next monday and has been despatched today!

Woolworths is the best, hands down. Delivery is free on all uk purchases, and they are extremely quick to dispatch.
I've pre-ordered loads of CDs with them this year and most of them have arrived on the Friday or Saturday before release, even when I place my order only 2 or 3 days in advance. Only 1 CD I've ever pre-ordered with them has arrived after the release date. |

However one thing that's concerned me is that I ordered a DVD from them and it was dispatched Last Thursday...and I still don't have it. Hmm. |

Hmm. ![]() I can't say about DVDs though because I've never ordered any from Woolies (or anywhere else for that matter). But at least we know they are reliable for CDs |

When I pre-order from HMV it usually arrives on the Saturday before the release BUT you must make sure it is definately pre-ordered well in advance, ie at least a week before release. I've found that if you pre-order on the Friday or Saturday before the release date on Monday then it probably won't turn up till Wednesday and you'll be annoyed with yourself that you didn't just pop to ASDA on the Monday and get it for £3 cheaper there anyway
