They are completely different but I think Beyonce is better. More entertaining and I think her voice is brilliant. Not many can dance and sing at the same time like she can and not sound tired.

well i am personally not a fan of either although i respect both muchly!
Celine has a powerhouse of a voice, possibly (in terms of vocals) rivals that of Christina Aguilera and back in the day at least Mariah Carey also! and Celine has looked after her voice and still remains the same (i hope Christina still will work the same magic as Celine in that respect) BUT i find Celine's music a tad too bland and wet for my overall taste! the Titanic theme always tends to put me off. Beyonce however is a different story, Destiny's Child built up a good tracklist of hits (i don't own their studio recordings but i have their #1's album and it's a great selection) but Beyonce seems more of a singles artist in an overall respect and i rarely like a song by her...Sweet Dreams and Me,Myself and I for me are her finest moments! but i always feel she's a bit more shouty on her songs and oversings moments that mean nothing lyrically to me, in the future i would love for her to do a I'm Breathless or Back To Basics style retro record and Motown inspired album (THAT would make me a fan!) or a counter opposite and do her own Blackout style with Synth pop and go for a dark electric direction (like her Eurythmics inspired Sweet Dreams anthem!) overall both are decent singers, Beyonce for entertainment and live value and Celine for consistency with her vocals, while neither are my cup of tea (yet!) both have had relative continuity and versatility in their works. |

Beyonce is the far better vocallist. She has a richer more developed lower range. She has a more resonant belting range that is more agile and versatile. She has better vibrato and a more flawless blend. Celine has awful placement she belts with incorrect larynx posistion and she supports the notes using her throat rather than her diaphragm and the higher she belts the more nasal she becomes and its bascially head voice F5 and above her mix is extremely head dominant. Celine may be loud but loud is not powerful. Celine has a loud thin tone whereas beyonces voice is fuller and more resonant. Beyonce also has more range in general and a more powerful richer more operatic head voice.
Beyonce also has musicianship to her voice she can create complex musical phrases and melismas, she also has fantastic sense of pitch and timing, her glissandos and cresendos are amazing. Celine lacks in the improvisation department, her melismas are completely disconnected from what shes singing. Beyonce also has more artistry she actually writes and creates music whereas celine largely does not. |

Just because her Bionic didn't set the charts alight and her current divorce etc. loads of people are trolling on her (most of her career has had so much hatred from some people, i am disgusted to read!) when Celine and Mariah do an album ANYTHING of the quality of Stripped alone let me know! but as it stands no one has! Stripped and Back To Basics are two of the finest albums of the last decade! and dare i say it, but Bionic is up there with them FULL STOP! Christina always highlights important messages in her songs (especially when she collaborates with Linda and recently Sia) and just has one of the most powerhouse voices in the world! I really want the world to wake up and notice her more! P!nk was pretty much neglected for the majority of the decade and took only the past year or so for people to notice her! for Xtina i hope the same happens she is a fine talent!

Here's both Celine and Beyonce on stage singing together.
![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBq9O-JVEO0 I know more of Beyonce's songs, whilst I only know of a few of Celine's. I would say I prefer Beyonce's voice, whereas Celine's is just impressive and that's just all it does for me. Both are remarkably talented singers though. |

I prefer Beyoncé because I know more of her songs. I prefer her voice too. Celine has an amazing voice though.

Christina has one of the most unique voices in the business! calling her singing awful is just INSANE of you to even think of let alone type it!

I think Bey is always consistent. Never seen a bad performance by her. She dances brilliant too so she has it all, the voice and the moves.

Regarding Stripped, I believe 'Beautiful' to be the best thing on there but she didn't even write it. |

I'm sorry. what? You clearly have never properly listened to a Mariah or Celine album, making your opinions on Christina's work completely biased. Celine and Mariah both have albums that I would deem better than Stripped.
Regarding Stripped, I believe 'Beautiful' to be the best thing on there but she didn't even write it. i guess we are both biased in those respects really. |
