This is weird. I find I get embarrassed and don't want colleagues to see my McDonald's bag and put it in another bag.

Inside the branch I hate going in when it's full of people. It's like I have no idea how to cook and what good food it.

I only go in to McDonalds if I need to use the toilet.

I have no problems going to McDonalds, or letting people know I go. Do you work with judgemental people?

It's a chance to rub shoulders with those less fortunate, it makes you feel humble.

I eat McDonalds very rarely but my kids like it every couple of weeks or so.

I couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks of me buying it. In fact I hadn't even thought that anyone would be bothered until I read this thread.

Sounds like you're either being paranoid or you really do work with some food snobs.

Of course not, tasty food and a good place to go with my mates if we are bored and hungry.

Although we do prefer burger king/KFC.

Food snobs these days

I very rarely go there, but don't feel particularly embarrassed when I do.

I do, they seem to think that I'm going in to buy something that would have the grease or calories dipping from it. Funnily enough I went in there for the second time this year to buy the 'deli-of-the-day' and felt like I had to explain to my colleagues why I was going there! (the sandwich shop I usually go to closed down last week). I should need to or want to but I think that it's down to the stigma McDonalds have for me to feel embarrassed like the OP said.

If I wasn't at work, I wouldn't give a monkeys.

They're using Sarah Palin and horse meat for their burgers now?

I haven't been in one for almost 15 years now. I would feel embarrassed as hell if I had to though.

I rarely go there but occasionally I just get a cravings for a McDonald's or a Burger King. Shouldn't feel ashamed about going there, that just sounds, well, snobby. I couldn't eat the crap all the time though.

I don't go and I wouldn't even go in to take a leak.

Why don't you find an altenative, one you're not ashamed to admit visiting.

Don't forget the immortal (although not suitable for work) words of Leo Getz from the Lethal Weapon movies.

Personally I would be embarrased to walk into McDonalds with somebody who is so concerned about what others think of their cooking ability that they don't want people to know they eat fast food
