Music
What affect does music have on you? it might sound a silly question but is it an important part of your life? or is it just something you like to have in the background like wallpaper.

Musi is a big part of my life and I listen every day, can't live without it. Sometimes I just listen for fun, other times I listen because it calms me down when angry. I tend to associate songs with people, places and events (even associate songs with some of my uni lecturers!
) and this influences my music listening habits a lot.

For me its like a diary, i hear a certain song and i instantly know where i was and what i was doing when it was playing.
For instance if i hear something by Abba, i'm back in the School youth club trying to look cool in my tank top and flares. If i hear anything from the Sex Pistols it makes me feel young again and i love the energy of their records, sometimes listening to it helps me make decisions. |

Massive part of my life. I don't really know how I ended up loving music as much as I do. My family like music (who doesn't?!?) but I remember taking an instant liking to music when I was 2.
I've always taken notice of lyrics too. Again, I can remember doing this at a very young age. I remember listening to a song when my grandad died (I think I was about 4), and crying because the lyrics were clearly about loss. I don't know how I knew that, I just did.. ![]() I couldn't live without music. Everybody can relate to music in some way. |

^ ^ that, also. sometimes a song can say all I want to say without me having to say anything, and putting it much better than I ever could. last year, for example: Misguided Ghosts by Paramore I know I use this band and this song in particular regularly on DS, but the lyrics explain exactly how I felt at that time. |

Everything! I've always thought that if I had to pick either movies or music that music win every time. Hands down! I don't think I could live without it, well I could, but it'd be rubbish let's face it.
Music can make me feel so many things that other mediums of art can't. I feel I can involve and invest myself in it. It's both emotional and fun. Love it

I particularly love music that has been completely written by the artist. And that includes the composing of the music and playing of the instruments. It becomes a lot more meaningful then. I especially like it if there are lyrics that fit with situations I'm in. They become easier to deal with then. Also, songs with a message are really good. I particularly love Move Along by The All-American Rejects. The message is clear and simple, and definitely works.
