what size usb memory stick
Hi,
I am about to buy a memory stick,(something I know very little about),so as I can download updates from the Humax site. Can you advise as to what is the best size to buy,my tv also updates via usb memory stick so it is an essential piece of kit, there's seems such a lot of choice regarding how many GBs you can get that I'm getting quite confused. Thanks in advance |

I ended up buying a 8mb one from Amazon.
So any HD films or SD films over 2hrs won't be able to copy over. I've had to split recordings sometimes so that i can copy over films that use more than 4gb to record. |

Don't forget that unless you format it to ext3 format you'll only be able to copy over 4gb at a time.

To be honest I've found copying programmes onto a USB stick to be more trouble than it's worth, especially since the Foxsat doesn't unmount the memory stick properly so there's often a long delay when you plug the memory stick into your computer while the ext3 partition is scanned for problems |

Fair pont, but I think the OP only wanted it for doing software updates.

I've just had to stop 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' at 1hr and then start recording the last 1hr 30mins again and use Video Redo to join them after taking out the adverts. P.s. Although having said that ST:TMP was only 2.5gb even with splitting it. |
