I get the feeling I am missing documentation for some of the more modern 9200 features, such as split recordings.

All I can find on the Humax web site are the original manual (which at a glance doesn't look to have changed) and the release note for software version 1.00.10.

Are there any other manual updates or addenda and, if so, where can I find them? I only realised from this forum that split recordings exist but I've no idea how to set them up or use them. I've also never figured out why some items in my EPG are different colours from others. I'm also not sure how to use series link and which of the new features are compatible, or not compatible, with extended recording end times.

Any pointers to any additional documentation would be gratefully received.

I was, but not looking in the right way

I assumed (wrongly) that I was looking for another addendum not a manual update. It would help a bit if the manual had a date or issue number on the title page. I didn't spot that it was an update compared with the printed manual I alread have.
