Are the S6 girls morphing into the S4 girls?

One of the worst showings for the girl's team (as it was for most things on the apprentice) was in S4. I'm sure we all remember the boardroom after the laundry task when they descended into a major catfight, like they did for most of the series - and how horrible some of the girls were in that most ghastly of chapters in apprentice history.

I worry that the girls in S6 may become that, particulary after seeing the boardroom this week, eerily reminsicent of the week 2 boardroom in S4. I just hope they shape up soon - but after seeing arguments involving the girls in the preview for the next episode, I'm not so sure all of them have been listening to Karren's advice. Will they change? It would be a shame for the girls if they didn't, since I think they've got more potential than the boys this year.

I also remember a lot of "aren't the girls so competent/the boys so useless" this year after the fish market task. And the firings of Shazia and Joy were both dismissed on You're Fired as because they were "too nice".

To be fair, I still think the girls of Series 4 were better than the boys. Outside of Lee and Alex (at selling) the latter were all completely useless.

In my experience, single sex teams (male or female) are always bad with bitchiness, bullying and cliques. Mix the sexes up and everyone quietens down and becomes more mature. The total is greater than the sum of the parts.

The girls team did work better in some series than others, though. In S5 they did - though that was because they had very good performers in that series. This year has potential for a second female winner in a row, if they don't screw up.

I actually thought after that first fish task in S4 that both teams did dreadfully. I remember a lot of arguing on both sides and a lot of fish being dropped on the pavement..:

True of S5, though they seemed to argue little, they lost the first task because they were all doing their own thing rather than being led. At the moment I can't spot any real difference between S5 and S6 girls, though Stella or Joanna = Yasmina.

Laura as a PM took too long to make her mind up, and even then in such a way that didn't inspire confidence in her choice. That let others in to give their 2 cents and chaos ensued. She seems to be Kim from S5, mostly talk.

My impression is that Joanna and Melissa can be a bit argumentative but the rest aren't any worse than usual. They had a weak leader in Laura, didn't respect her and couldn't sit back and let her do the job, and they were probably right because Laura made some terrible decisions.

The impression from the edit is that they got on OK in the first task, with Joanna being a much stronger leader. They really only showed us her clash with Melissa, and Dan said he thought they'd cooperated well. Maybe there was more fighting that was lost in the edit.

Regardless, I don't think Joy was to blame for the fighting this episode, so firing her won't make much difference to it.

At the moment the teams are so large, when they all get round a table there's not enough time for everyone to have their say (and perhaps listen?). Needs a strong PM to bring order and provide direction and focus. A weak one may as not be there if enough aren't paying attention to them. Same as in real life really.

I don't think there was much fighting as such, most seemed to be unimpressed with Laura but realised that conflict wasn't going to help with the task. After they lost, time to let it all out.
