I know, it's a bit of a shock, isn't it?

As far as I'm concerned, all they need to do to make the results show perfect is cut down on the filler and showcase the dance troupe properly, instead of treating it like a poor relation. We don't need the dance-off, we just need fabulous pro dances.

Would suggest that the dance off is bought back next year with one exception, Len cannot have the casting vote. His casting vote judgements last year were completely like rabbits caught in the headlights judgements.

Be careful what you wish for - you might get it.

Like others, I think the dance off was okay until the two dance stage but it wasn't a perfect solution. Then again - what is? The cream nearly always rises to the top even if it does contain one or two lumps occasionally. Goldie was always cannon fodder; the only question was how soon would he be out?

As said up there^^^ all it did was encourage votes for the awful dancers to keep them out of the bottom 2 as long a possible.

That said - I never got antsy about the stinkers progressing anyway. There can only be 2 or 3 in the final anyway, so as long as they don't keep the deserving finalists out (and for me at this stage that is Matt, Pamela and Scott), I don't care if Ann lasts until the semi final”

^^ agree with this ... I was put out when John Sergent was kept in last yr time and time again... im all for a bit of fun and frolics and nearly wee'd myself laughing at Ann this week.. but i think past week 2/3 it gets ridiculous if they remain when they do so little actual "dancing".

I didn't think I would, but I really did miss the dance-off on Sunday. I understand that they are making an emphasis on the fact that the show 'belongs' to the public. But it will definitely take me a while to get used to not having the dance-off component.

How about at least allowing the losing couple to re-create their routine for one final time as a thank you for their participation? It seems such a shame that they are so swiftly booted. Goldie's shock was palpable - I almost thought his gold teeth were gonna drop out!

No doubt, they'd enjoy it more the second time around, without pressure to compete and savouring the experience one last time. I know I'd have enjoyed seeing Goldie and Kristina's dance again, even if only to give them something of a nice send-off.

Didn't it take four dance-offs to get rid of Heather Small?

What about the millions who find good dancing more entertaining then watching someone shuffling from foot to foot and pointing a finger.
Even the public vote doesn't give a true picture of how viewers feel as long as SCD allows multiple voting for a celeb.

I agree with you memmh.

Also I know some people don't like the changes to The Moment of Truth, but actually I wouldn't mind that being done in three stages, as it is done on DWTS. I like the little groups of couples that are on the stage together to hear their fate, as opposed to have them all standing under the spotlight.

I'd like to see the eliminated couple dance again at the end as their swan song.

Bring it back. BUT there needs to be an odd number of judges (Karen would make a good 5th) to make it fair.

If the millions who found good dancing more entertaining voted then they`d knock the foot shufflers out surely ?

There is nothing to stop them multi-voting as well.

I never liked the dance off,,it was very often unfair. It gave the judges the opportuinity to get rid of some dancers just because they didnt like them or perhaps they were intimidated to keep the poorer dancer. LIke the time they eliminated Gabby over Penny just because Rod Stewart was in the audience. Gabby was far superior to Penny.

As Tissy points out, there's nothing stopping those 'millions' from multi-voting for the better dancers.

In my opinion though, you've under-estimated the number of viewers that enjoy watching the likes of Ann.

Yes, the dance off was very unfair. One week the judges saved someone because they thought they were better, the next week they were saving someone because of 'potential'.

The judges abused their power.

I'm glad that's stopped.

In some respects, the better dancers in the eyes of the judges have an advantage anyway, especially in the early stages because they are ahead on safety points. I know the line is that 'no one is safe' but that's not really accurate -again especially in the early stages when to get the top marked of the judges dancers down in the dance off would virtually take a complete reversal of the leader board.

I would take it more that the top 5 or so couples are almost sure to be safe, but the ones under them are the vunerable ones.

If Ann and Paul are the celebs pulling in the viewers and getting people to vote then I would imagine that the P-that-B in Strictly Towers will want them in as long as that is so.
