Simple really. Pick a cliche --- can be a single word or a phrase --- with the exception of "You're fired", and note the number of times it's said per episode. Winner is obviously the one whose word/phrase gets mentioned the most each ep, and the overall winner the one whose word/phrase gets mentioned all through the series (yes, I know it's two weeks into it: so sue me!)

Has to be a cliche, so you can't take a simple word like "and" or "task" or "team", and only one person can take a cliche or word, so first in gets best choice.

Just an idea for a bit of fun, If you're interested post here with your chosen cliche, and then be prepared for much rewatching of episodes, and keep a calculator or pen and paper handy!

Who says cliches can't be fun???

PS Obviously no names, places, or things like "coming up": has to be a genuine cliche, like "hit the ground running", "passionate", "driven", "I AM the Apprentice!" and so on. Choose wisely, young poster!

Can I make an early bid for 'if you make me project manager next week I won't let you down'. I don't think we've seen that one yet but it can only be a matter of time.

OK. The game is only one day old and already the players have made some surprise choices. Will this gamble work for them in the long run? Only time will tell...

PS Paulie Walnuts, you can only choose one cliche, so please indicate which one of the two you selected below you want to go with. Thx.

Sorry, that's too vague. You have to spell out the cliche, or even word(s), as shown above...

That's not my fault. As team leader it was YOUR responsibility to make sure that each of us had a clearly defined role. I'm a team player, and it will be a disgrace if you pull me into the boardroom with you

Seriously though, I wasn't paying full attention. I'll go with "I sold more than anyone else on my team", thanks.

Maybe we could do a spin off game - Cliche Bingo!

Each player has a 5 x 5 card with 25 cliches on, and has to get a line in any direction (Catchphrase style) - horizontally, vertically or corner to corner. The line has to be straight

OK, some ideas for those who are stuck. All these cliches are still available. Anything that sounds like one of them is inclusive. Huh??? I mean, something like "I'm the full package" and "She's the full package" or "I'm not yet the full package" are all taken to be from the same "family" of cliches, so if one person takes one, the others are automatically unavailable.

So, here's a little list...

"I'm the full package" (Where did THAT come from???)
"Hit the ground running"
"I'm a grafter"
"I can lead a team"
"I stepped up"
"I'm passionate"
"I want this so much"
"There are no friends in business"
"I'm not here to make friends"
"It was your/her/his/its responsibility"
"You're on thin ice"
"Why have you brought x back into the boardroom?"
"How much did YOU sell?"
"This was a sales task"
"X was/is not my area"
"I've left (blank) behind to come here"
"I want to win"

Need I go on...?

Yes, but you hear this one in pretty well any reality show!

"I'm so useless, please fire me, Lord Sugar."

Sorry, that's my fantasy cliché saying that will never happen!

"I'm just like you, Lord Sugar"

Always a classic that will definitely crop up this series, not likely to feature more than once an episode though.

I only saw one series of Trump apprentice, but it seemed the phrases "putting out fires" and "busy work" would come up every five minutes

"Lord Sugar's search for his apprentice... continues"

Alright, that's cheating- it's in every show apart from the first and last. I'll have-

"As project manager, I know I'm in the firing line"

OK people, last call! You can get your choices in up to an hour before the show begins tomorrow, after that it's closed for this round.
Good luck everyone, and remember, there can only be one Apprentice Cliche Game winner!

Hmm. On first viewing I think there were few of the chosen cliches used this episode, but I have to rewatch and confirm. Will try to have that by tomorrow.
