Sorry, the word process is not a cliche. Good try though!

One of the accepted definitions of cliche is 'a hackneyed theme, characterization, or situation'. Sugar's repeated attempt to lend spurious legitimacy to a reality TV show by describing as a process fits this definition.

Yeah, but not for this game! My rules, and all that....

I came out of lurking for this ace thread

My cliche is "on hindsight..."

Does that count?

Such an exciting game

I'd like "I have raw business accumen" if no one else has it already

No problem. You can also score for any variant of that, such as "with hindsight, looking back, hindsight is 20/20" etc

OK, just a reminder, guys. You have until Wednesday at 8pm to pick your cliches, If you haven't already, consider doing so before the deadline to be in with a chance.

Yeah, I get you. In other words, if he says he's heard enough and someone interrupts him. But not JUST if he says "I've heard enough", fair?

Afraid not. That's not a cliche: it's a part of the programme, in the same way "the search for Lord Sugar's Apprentice continues" could not fairly be said to be a cliche. Apart from that, the above is said every episode (sometimes twice or more) so it wouldn't be fair.

For the purposes of this game, a cliche has to be something that's often repeated, usually by different people, or that is used to make/counter an argument, make an excuse, describe a candidate (usually by themselves!) etc.

I know it's a little gray, but I think people have the idea by now.

The show is due to start at 9pm, so you have just under 15 minutes to get yours in for this week's episode. Anything posted after 8pm will not be considered, though you may get in early for next week's!

... three, two one ... done! That's it for this week. Let's all settle down and see how the show goes. Results tomorrow hopefully. Good luck all, and thanks for taking part!

Used it again (or a variation of it), this time Stuart Baggs The Brand, so again a point to you!

Oops! I didn't see that one! Hmm. Well, I have to take back the point for the original quote, but I now need to consider whether I can accept "You're clearly passionate about your product". Let you know in the morning....

OK, this is what I've noted from rewatching:

1. "I have raw business acumen" --- this exact phrase was not used, but Jamie said something about "business skill", so I'm going to accept that. That was chosen by artensoll, so 1 point to you.

2. "At the end of the day", chosen by markkeen (Christopher said this in the car)

3. "I'm passionate" --- I'm accepting the somewhat longer version from the dept store head, and that's 1 point for Lizzie8008.

So after week 2 of the game, the standings are as follows:

Lizzie8008 has 2 points and is in the lead
Paulie Wingnuts retains 1 point from last week but none this week
Also on one point then are
markkeen and artensoll. So our current leader is Lizzie8008! Well done!

Pity no-one chosen "feedback" --- I think I counted it about six times! Ah well, on to next week's show!

"Rewatch" ? Maybe you should start a thread about made up words heard on "The Apprentice" ? (Not including Melissa's little gems)

"My own skill-set is so right for this task..."

(Or similar.)
