Running out of ideas?

Maybe it's been similar in previous series but the bread task for week three (shown next week) seems rather similar to the sausage task from week one: make food then sell it. Do the apprentices really need to do another food task? I don't think so.

Perhaps the show is running out of ideas or repeating itself? I guess that's the problem with any successful show - sooner or later it starts to copy itself.

You could argue making food and trying to sell it is not that relevant. Sure, there's selling involved, you need to work out the cost vs the selling price blah blah blah, but I don't recall Alan Sugar ever going into the sausage/bread/chicken/pizza/chocolate business!

You could argue being useless at making bread or sausages doesn't automatically mean you're not capable of being a good Apprentice. The non-food tasks may be more relevant.

All the themes are familiar in that they have to develop stuff then sell it or sometimes buy goods. I quite like the buying ones and when they go abroad. Not sure what else they can do.

The sausage task was making stuff in advance then selling to the public. The bread task will be pitching for contracts and then fulfilling them. It is different. It's more like the laundry task in series 4, or the cleaning task last year. The food element isn't particularly important.
