Gavin is a bit shallow and not exactly Mr Personality. Matthew is a great dancer but now I see in the paper today they are saying he is having fights with his partner and is a bit of a Diva, perhaps they are concerned he is going to kill the competition as he is so good, so early. I remember how bad publicity shattered the chances of an X Factor contestant when it was printed she had a relationship with one of the producers of the show.”

It's odd because with Pamela we're seeing the first contestant in their 60's who is making a splash for all the right reasons proving that age sometimes is just a number. I think Felicity problems are not do with her age but her personality maybe. Shilton's namesake Peter Schmicheal had similar problems with his latin and he was a lot younger - on the whole sportsmen tend to do better at ballroom than latin - Ramps being the exception although Colin Jackson and Austin Healey were good all-rounders.

well, lets hear it for the oldies ! Most of them are extremely flexible and a real example to us all.

I do wonder what has happened to all the younger possible contestants though...

I agree Felicity, definitely. When I saw her in the launch show I thought she was going to be great. She doesn't seem to be completely letting go.

What is the difference between this thread and this one.

The other thread I think was intended to discuss couples whose chemistry and partnership doesn't seem to be happening, which doesn't necessarily correlate with underwhelming dancing - for example, quite a few people have expressed an opinion that they don't (myself included) 'get' Kara and Artem's partnership, but I wouldn't call her performances underwhelming

I suppose it could just take one dance for us to change our views on those we are underwhelmed by.

I am underwhelmed by all of them except Matt, Kara and Scott.
Anne doesn't try, Peter, Paul, Patsy, Felicity, Jimmy do but get nowhere.
Pamela creeps me out and I thought I would like her.
Tina doesn't believe and I can't believe Michelle would be so awkward.
If Gavin doesn't get some gumption soon I'll have to watch him from behind the sofa.

Really disappointed in this year's selection. Far too old and past it for the dances to be enjoyable to watch.

Michelle was like a frightened rabbit tonight. Not sure even Brendan knows what to do with her.

For some reason I can't get excited about his way of dancing.

Felicity did well tonight IMO. I think she will get better hopefully, and prove us wrong. She is a bit cutesy for 64 but I still like her...people seem very indifferent and at times rude about her!

I genuinely forgot about Tina completely!!

I am not underwhelmed at all! I think the standard is really high this year and I don't want anyone to go (maybe apart from Michelle, who does not seem to enjoy the experience at all). I'm really loving it this year.
