9300 Series Record Dropouts

Does anyone know how the 9300 handles series recordings as I'm confused. An example will best explain the issue.

I had some series records set up and one where there had been a three weeks gap between programmes correctly recorded. However another programme which was off air for the ten days of the commonwealth games failed to record when it returned.

I've noticed this erratic behaviour several times before. I suppose it could be that the series ID has changed (this was the BBC) but sometimes it looks as if it drops the series if there's more than an 8 day gap in transmissions.

Any ideas?

Personally I don't use the 'series link' feature. Its either that or time buffer (I use -1 min, +5 min) on the 9300, so I use that instead. You can't use both. Last time I used series link it chopped off the end of The Wire. UNFORGIVABLE!

I recorded the England game 'highlights' on ITV1 the other night. Even though it recorded for 5 minutes after the scheduled end, the end was still chopped off, which goes to show the buffer is essential (in my view). Unless you are away for more than 7 days at a time, I don't see any need for series link.

Plus my machine regularly 'resets itself', meaning all my recording setups and settings are wiped anyway. I assume you are new to the 9300. Welcome to a world of frustration!
