Three - what problems?
Hi I am thinking of going onto the 3g network and I was wondering what problems do people experience with three because I have been told it is a crap network by many people.
Thanks |

I've been on ThreePay for about 2 months now, first of all I tried the NEC e313 and didn't like the handset at all, felt like a toy to me, the camera felt like it might break and it was way too large. Now I've got the Motorola A835 and it feels much more solid, more features (Bluetooth, IR, more memory). Okay it's a bit heavier but I don't mind.
The e313 is the budget handset - can be found for £30 in Argos. Still has a colour screen, rotating camera, MS Duo slot. The Motorola e835 has dual cameras, Bluetooth, IR, 64Mb base memory and AGPRS. It is going for about £75 in 3 stores or 3 points (the only place I could find them). I got mine for £49 though! ![]() Going upwards in price, the NEC e616 is a clamshell phone and costs £199 on ThreePay, same price for new LG. All of these phones can be free on VideoTalk/VideoText 500 contract though. There is currently a half price for 6 months line rental offer on too. I have had no complaints with the service though. I don't live in a video service area, but I doubt I'd watch much of the video if I did. I have tried the video stuff and I found it to be fun at first but then it just gets boring. I might watch say a news report if I'm out and about and in a 3G area but when I'm at home I just have broadband for that sort of thing. I normally top up with VideoText 500 which is £25 and gives you 50 XNet minutes and 500 texts which suits me. |

Good Points:
Its very cheap. Bad Points: No Internet Access just crappy paid for content in their walled garden. Poor customer service which may have improved heaven knows it was so bad it could only get better! Calls drop between 3G and 2G. I would wait till the autumn when all the other networks get 3G fully operational. Most of them have data and net acess up and running now. If all you want is cheap calls then go with 3. But remember you get what you pay for! |
