I reckon they are given a lot longer than 30 minutes to wake up, wash, get dressed and be ready to leave. I think that the cars might turn up in the 30 minutes but they wait for them.

Anyone know for sure?

Don't know for sure but I think they must do. I sure as hell couldn't shower, eat breakfast, do my hair and put a full face of slap on in 30 minutes!

no you dont. I bet they are told the night before what time they will have to be ready by. If you think those women can apply all that makeup and get dressed in 30mins your having a laugh. The makeup probably takes 30mins.

I couldn't do it, that's for sure. I would set my alarm for like 5am and get ready just to be on the safe side. It takes me longer than 30 minutes to get ready in the morning.

They must know that the next challenge is starting the following day, so would set their alarms accordingly, the '30 minutes until the cars come' is just footage for TV.

From what I've heard from past candidates, it's a girl 30 minutes not a boy 30 minutes. They basically get as long as they need. Nobody wants them looking rough on camera at the start.

Since the camera crew have to film the morning phone call, they probably start to get up when they hear them arrive...

I wouldn't have thought so, given that we see shots of them straightening their hair and what not LOL

If they only got 30 minutes we would see them heading into the cars half dressed, hair all over the place and a bit bedraggled. Not immaculately groomed

Why do the producers treat us like fools by keeping up this pretence!?

In the first series, once when the phone went, a guy answered it (Tim?), and the guys decided not to wake the women?

Every time I watch this part I always wish that the one who answers the telephone would tell Lord Sugar they've decided to have a lay-in today!

I get the feeling/impression that part of the show's aim is to motivate the rest of us to be go getters, and try and be like that, to be that driven every day but its not as simple as that. They have lots of help from the production team and the way the girls and the boys even tear strips off each other, that isn't good generally.

So it might motivate people generally to an extent and thats good but it seems to encourage those that appear on the programe to get worse and worse when it comes to defending themselves about keeping their position and thats been getting worse every year which isn't good.

Most of them seem to be scheeming on every move about how it may come back on them if they lose etc.

Oh come on! Some of the girls, particularly, look as though they've got dressed in the dark!!

30 minutes to get ready, I could do it easily!!

My breakfast is a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Both could be consumed on the move!

After all these years I cant believe some people STILL dont realise that 90% of the house footage is completley staged for the cameras. They probaly do a few different takes of answering the phone and use the best one. Do people realy think they are all asleep waiting for one of them to wake them up ?

Its as staged as the evening part, where they all sit around the front room discussing who is going to be fired out of the 3 in the boadroom.

Congratulations, but you had your own bathroom. There are not 14 bathrooms in the house.

Not a chance.

No woman on Earth can get ready in under 30 minutes anyway, so that should tell you all you need to know.

Gosh, what if there is a fire in early morning?

On a slightly different note, does anyone know how far apart the tasks are? Such as this weeks took 2 days, do they just do the next task the next day or is it week to week?

I suspect 2 tasks per week. Each task has to take at least 2 days from start to finish, and 5 weekdays can only accommodate 2 tasks at most, as the external businesses could only accommodate the Apprentice on a weekday.

It's done back to back. Though I think they have Sundays off ie a chance to catch up on some sleep, not off home. Tasks normally take two days and back at the house they often will work far into the night. Next day is boardroom day. Treats are usually filmed that day too. Lorraine from last year suggested that a treat would to let them sleep instead. Next day, phone rings early morning.

By the end of the series, you are watching people who have spent the last six, seven weeks on 4-6 hours sleep per night. the producers want wired people to make mistakes and flare up.
It was pretty obvious that Yasmina couldn't have gone on for much longer. Kate ran on Duracells
