Rumour mill is saying this could be Christina
![]() The tour 'which nearly destroyed her' would probably need to Back to Basics and I find it hard to believe she was drinking heavily etc. during that, especially given that she was pregnant for a big chunk of it. Plus, at the peak of her fame, arguably the debut era, or even if we are taking that as Stripped, she was far too busy to be sleeping 18 hours a day. Christina is a lot more sensible than tabloids give her credit for tbh. |

![]() And so true...Christina adds something whenever she opens her mouth and belts it out tbh...i hope this time its more of a success for her commercially/critically perspective ![]() The Voice has really helped her keep her name out there in the US especially and Moves Like Jagger reminded the world who she is and again put her on top of the charts alongside Maroon 5. With the right promo, single choices, music videos, she really cannot go wrong. If Bionic was handled well (and she wasn't getting a divorce), it would have slayed. Woo Hoo, I Am and Monday Morning all had potential to save the album and become hits. |

I don't think her Divorce really had anything to do with Bionic being not handled well. Bionic was released in June and they split in September. By then, the album was a still a flop and was preparing for the release of You Lost me.

I'm so ready for her comeback. I don't think the lead single is about Perez Hilton. Maybe they're just hyping the track up to get more non-fans interested
Whatever the case, I can't wait until she starts giving us more infomration about the track. I don't need 'Love Your Body' 2.0. I want an actual single premiere this time around

Her marriage had obviously deteriorated long before their official announcement, though.

![]() Anyways, on the subject of her new album, I think it will do well Whether it will have the longevity of Stripped/Back to Basics I don't know but I imagine it will peak pretty well and the singles will perform well. I think the main problem with the Bionic era is that people sort of stopped caring about her. The great thing about The Voice is now everyone has an opinion on her again, it may not positive but it wasn't positive during Stripped or her debut era either.

No new news. Got a feeling that August thing was just a rumour like that whole Love Your Body thing in January was.

Come on Chris. We've been waiting long enough and the longer you delay, the more competition you have.
It may not be perfect timing for them, but how fecking easy would it be to slay with a hit single right now? |

If we don't get the song soon then I don't think we'll get it till late (as in November/December) or next year, I think they'll want to avoid competition and we have releases from Pink and Gaga soon.

I do wonder if the prospect of Lady Gaga releasing her new album later this year has made RCA decide to delay Christina's comeback. I doubt they want a repeat of what happened in 2010. As it will be Christina who once again comes off second best.
I hope I am wrong though. It would have been good if XTina and Gaga could have somehow duetted to stop the fan wars. Doubt it will happen though. |

I actually think now would have been a good time for Christina to release a second Spanish album. I love La Casa and I think that would have been a good stop gap.

I think they're going to clash.
Gaga will likely drop out of nowhere at the end of August with immediate digital release. If Christina's team got a move on and sent the single to radio at the beginning of August, by the time it was available to buy...we'd be talking near end of August too. Christina would build airplay before release, but I imagine her sales will be steady rather than flashy...so even with the head start and Gaga perhaps taking a week to build airplay post-release...they're still going head on. It could co-promote and work in their favour (much like the Gaga vs. Britney of early 2011), but Christina is going in as such an underdog I fear she'd be trampled. If you take into September when The Voice starts up again, they're still clashing. Word on the street is that Britney is releasing something to coincide with the XF and Mariah is releasing in the latter quarter of 2012 too...so I guess it's a case of picking the least threatening rival or just going for it. |

And yes, I really would like a Gaga/Christina moment that at least calms the stans down a bit.
It could have been as simple as co-presenting an award at the VMAs, but I don't think Gaga's going. Realistically though, if Gaga and Britney proclaiming their love for one-another, going to each-others tours and appearing together on stage didn't calm their stans down...I guess there's not much hope for Gaga and Christina. Would get the media off their backs though, maybe. |

Christina and Gaga could release a sex tape and some fans would still argue that Christina's tits were better, or that Gaga's ass was better.

I feel like clashing with other artists should not be a concern. There are always simultaneous high profile releases, so she can't really avoid that. If she released her lead single in early 2012, like the rumours implied, she would clash with Madonna and Rihanna. There's always competition, but I'm starting to believe that it's actually beneficial if anything. The only time period when competition decreases is the summer and look how all the albums released in the past 2 months underperformed...
Clashing or no clashing, Christina needs a good catchy pop song and a wicked promotional plan. Provided these, even if the entire pop market decide to randomly release lead singles in September, she'll still be fine.

One of the regular sources on AfterLD is claiming this Quote:
I personally love it. It's very mainstream so I'm hoping it will do well on radio. The song is about hooking up, so I'm sure a lot of y'all will relate. haha Definitely a good cub/dance song. So maybe we are still on for August afterall.
Favorite line: It's true what you heard, I am a freak I'm disturbed, so come and give me your worst…. Get ready!! |
