I'd pay really, really good money for this to be adapted.
This, and Preacher on screen would be fantastic. Just hope the Preacher movie gains some momentum soon. |

'Big budget film?' How can that ever possibly work? Some things just wouldn't make good films. Take that idea outside and shoot it. Now. *stern look*
I'm not too optimistic about a mainstream TV series either. Naked women and obese women aren't what you'd call regular fixtures of US TV (one for censorship reasons, the other because producers get jumpy about imperfect women lowering ratings)... how are they even going to get Despair through the planning stage? Even if they do get her through, the idea of a permanently naked obese woman used for a purpose besides comedy is more or less alien to them, so it isn't like anyone can rely on them not to do something cringey. And that's just to start with. Basically, and I'm well aware I'm being cyncical here, but I fear a mainstream adaptation os Sandman, made in the USA for a general audience, would tone it down, remove all the bits that make it what it is, take out the subtlety and intelligence and replace them with things blowing up... we'd get a Bowdlerised Theme Park version! And I'm too much of a purist to not throw shoes at something like that! ![]() ![]()
