I've mentioned our *Mumper* cat he visits me all the time, he lives in the factory next door but he loves playing with my cat Wally, they play together, fight (not horrible fighting)

He loves sitting on the table and looking out the window , things were going in next door in the factory, Dave (mumper) was most intrigued he was nosing out the window and he had a *meerkat* moment where he was standing on his back legs looking out, he looked soo funny, I love it when cats do that... as always I should have had a camera at that time.

Oh arent these stories lovely?! Loved reading through your pet stories, makes a lovely change from the sad stories

My two are brother and sister, i've only had them 8 months (rescued them from a horrible life living in a carboard box outside a pub's smoking area ) Pretty and Fatty Matty - they are the greatest of friends even when they fight - when Fatty Matty wakes up he lets out a little yeowl and she comes running , its like he's making sure she's there. When they fight he always lays on the rug and pulls himself along to her, she's playing dumb at this point and pretending he's not there then he starts pawing her and talking ..she turns around and its like something from the Matrix - she does ninja paw for ages before dropping it on him - they roll about until i say "stop it" .. looks vicious sometimes but they really are just a typical brother and sister.. i love them dearly

Ordered this from Amazon the other day along with Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat. Looking forward to reading them.

Do your cats have sudden episodes of racing through the house like a demented being, meowing (well sounds like yelling really) their heads off. Rolo has just had his...it's so funny.

I love it when they have their mad moments, tearing round the place with their ears back, especially funny when you have wooden floors and they slide along. Usually they do this after or just before they have a poo.

PS great thread! Nice to hear happy and funny stories as well as suppporting those who've lost their pets.”

Buy a laser pen! They go daft chasing it and you don't get tired.

I've got two who are brother and sister and it is lovely to watch them. They are adults now but they still sleep together, wash each other and follow in each other's footsteps. It really is lovely watching two little mates. If one hurts itself (or I stupidly step on its paw or tail as I've done in the past), the other will run to it and give it a lick or will sit by it.

They mouse a lot too and the little girl catches the mice and her brother waits for her to drop it and then he steals it from her and either brings it to me for a reward or plays with it. She just sits there watching him and doesn't seem bothered in the slightest (typical female/male lion behaviour I suppose).

Mine always have a mad moment. Its usualy all at the same time around the time we go to bed. Guinness a natural fat cat amazes us sometimes he gets a spurt on and chases the little ones then they chase him back. He also is realy well know where we live as well. He toodle across too the shops and sits in the middle of the road and wont shift we usualy have too pick him up and move him. One day he wouldnt shift and a villiager had to go on the pavement to get around him in his 4x4. Kado if he doesnt like a car near us if its parked in the wrong place he spreys up it. The walks away. He has been done as well.

I could hear a little 'mew' outside this morning, and I realised that my neighbour's cat was stuck up a tree. I don't have a long ladder so my o/h grabbed a piece of flexible MDF, held it up to the tree and little Gilbert zoomed down the wooden slide with a delighted little meow and a huge grin on his little furry face. The best pet rescue I've ever seen

When my two were kittens they would follow me into the bathroom in the morning (they still do this) and would curl up in my pyjama bottoms as I sat down. One in each trouser leg of my pyjama bottoms (with my legs still in them), four little eyes staring up at me. Very funny!

Mine gets very embarrassed about it. I sometimes hear her charging up and down (the heaviest footed cat ever), but when I go and see what she is up to, she suddenly stops and starts washing herself. I don't think she wants me to see her having fun

My kitten is 5 months old and makes me smile or laugh every day. I got him shortly after my mum was diagnosed with cancer and if I am having a bad day he knows and will snuggly up next to me.
He has done so many funny things that it would take me a looong time to list them - as I am typing this, he is curled up in my laptop case looking very cute!

Im sure he thinks he is a dog as he will chase after scrunched up paper and then bring it back to me to throw again.
I bought him a rabbit tunnel as it is longer than the cat ones and he will often wait at the end to try to catch me - he thinks I can't see his bum hanging out the end shaking away - when he gets through the tunnel he leaps at me almost like he is giving me a hug which is funny.

At any opportunity he will lay on his back stretched right out with his back legs wide apart - typical bloke!!

Yes, mine does that - he likes to race up the hallway and jump up to the coat rack and hang off of it. I sometimes think he is not the full ticket. And he makes funny noises - almost like he is having a moan about something!

I bet she can move quietly. If she wants to, that is.

In which case she has never wanted to

I can hear her clearly when she jumps off my bed and I'm in the room below. It is quite a loud thump. Likewise when she jumps off the fence onto the top of the compost bin (which is only a foot or so), she sounds like a little elephant. I can always tell when she comes in via the upstairs or downstairs window as again, I get the 'thump'. So when she charges around the house, all I hear is 'THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP'. The first time she did it, I wondered what on earth was happening. It took me ages to find out as when I went to look, she would always have an 'What? Not me' expression on her face and would saunter off.

I wish she could be as quiet as the neighbours cats that sneak in and out without me knowing until I discover all of her food gone.

Fliss normally sounds like a whole herd of elephants. Every now and then, though, she'll mysteriously appear, unnoticed, on the back of the sofa or the arm of the chair without making a sound.

I have always thought cats were wonderful creatures, but reading about all your puss-cats I now know for certain that they are such clever little so and so's, and will always want one in my life

On the Sunday before last, we lost one of our rabbits, Little Louie, who died suddenly after suffering a stroke some weeks ago from which she'd only partly recovered. Her mate, our little Dwarf Lop, Houdini, was with her, grooming her at the end and was extremely listless and depressed for several days and went off his food. We thought we were going to lose him, too. Then, we put him into the run in the garden on a more or less fine afternoon last week, to see if the fresh air would perk him up. Our albino rabbit, Butch (female like Louie, despite the name) was out there, too. She's six years old and has always been a loner, not interested in other animals, but when she noticed Houdini sitting listlessly in the corner of the run, she went over, sat beside him, and eventually started grooming him. She hasn't left his side since; we've moved her into the double hutch he shared with Louie, and she is fiercely protective of him. Houdini is eating normally again, and seems happier than he has been in weeks. Butch seems to have given him a new lease of life, and it seems to be mutual. I think butch just needed someone to look after...

I booked Winnie's vet appointment this morning. £38.25 for her booster injections! I'm sure we only spent roughly £25 last year for 2 sets!! She has fish for tea tonight, so she's happy. She keeps climbing up onto the kitchen side trying to get to her fish which is defrosting!

I got ordered up to bed last night (it was rather late), only so I could get the bed warm. The only bit of winter that I love is to be nudged so I can open the covers for her to get underneath to snuggle up next to me. This year she has decided to lie differently, so instead of paws digging into me, I get the furry side
