Thats an appauling comment to make, michelle's rumba was so much better than pauls, and even jimi's, her body language is good, she is a lovely woman, and she has tried her upmost, your comments are really un nessecarily hurtful for someone who is really trying to live up to the expectations people have placed on her.

I would. It's not fair on the girls who were offered contracts to appear in those shows. I'd mind if Lilia were brought in to replace one of them like that, however much I miss Lilia on the show.

The results show was live until series five when the dance-off was introduced.

They closed at 8.15pm last night- don't vote now as your vote won't be counted and you may still be charged!

That's just my opinion, I'd rather watch Kristina or Ola than any of the dance troupe girls. I know it won't actually happen!

Was it on a Sunday then? I didn't start watching until series 5. There's no logistical sense in having a live results show unless it's also on the Saturday.

I'd also rather watch Ola than any of the dance troupe girls, and much rather watch Lilia. I just don't think it would be fair on those who were contracted in to the dance troupe... especially since being in the dance troupe was already like getting second prize.

Yeah, the results show used to be on a Saturday. I can't believe you haven't seen the first four series- you've missed out!
(No wonder you don't like the Bennetts!)

They even did a live Christmas Special in series two, complete with public vote. It wasn't on Christmas day, obviously!

Paul may think that Ola made a mistake in the choreography, but the comedy Ola puts in is always aimed at the TV audience, not the Judges, and Paul seemed to miss that and reacted to the judges not getting it.

Ola did a great job as ever.

Paul did OK, in terms of learning the steps and didn't disgrace himself. Unfortunately I think future weeks wouldn't have gained Paul anything and it was the best time in terms of Paul's best interests, for him to go.

He usually danced like he was in a trance, which I guess was him remembering the steps, with the occasional smile breaking out - ususually accompanied with a bit of style.
His jokes mostly worked, so the show overall shouldn't have done him any harm. Most people who hate him now, hated him before strictly IMO.

This shows Paul enjoying himself and I hope that's how he looks back on Strictly.

Regarding the first four series- try and see it if you can, Series 4 is my favourite series to date (although my favourite female went first).

I agree it's sad to see Ola go, but I think the result was fair enough as far as Paul is concerned. I think Michelle is over marked by the judges and I'm sure they're desperate to keep her in as she's a 'star' - but I thought there was a bit of emotional blackmail in some of her behaviour over the last week or so.

I don't think reacting to receiving the most harsh treatment is emotional blackmail. I would much rather see her point out the harm they're doing, than let them continue trampling on her while being nice to Anne and Paul, and eventually see Michelle crumble.

There's nothing appalling about those comments at all

That's pretty strong language to describe an honest critique. The judges have given Michelle constructive criticism over the last 2 weeks including suggestions for improvement. She has not improved.
It may be your opinion that her rumba was good, personally I found it stiff, ungainly, wobbly and awkward. These things made it far less pleasant to watch for me than either Jimmi's or Paul's as at least I wasn't afraid one of them was going to fall over.
She may well be a lovely woman, I've never met her or sat and had a chat with her but she has an extremely unfortunate manner which makes her seem to be permanently sulky. I've also seen her rolling her eyes and scowling at the judges comments which is a demonstration of very poor body language and has without a doubt contributed to her unpopularity.
If she wants to rescue the situation she needs to lighten up and stop taking all criticism as a personal attack, accept that she's not the best dancer on the show and just focus on learning the routines and be happy that she's doing the best she can with them.

I would add to this excellent post that Brendan does not appear to like her very much. His body language up in the Tessanine was very unsupportive, where last year with Jo he was lovely.

I dont know Michelle personally and had never heard of her before she appeared on Strictly but I think her going will be a relief to her, Brendan and the Judges to be honest, I dont think ANY of them are enjoying the experience, and its rubbing off on the public. She comes across as either completely manic (early VT's) or very needy (later VT's) personally I am sorry she didnt go tonight as I dread to think the angst we are going to get this week from her.

I think we can all cut Brendan a little bit of slack in terms of last night - Michelle just tweeted that his father passed away yesterday.

I know, it was just an observation based on how much I feel the dance troupe is pointless - I'd only get interested if they put Ola and Kristina in, which won't happen, or at least won't until a couple of the pro guys get knocked out (then let's hope the sensible option is taken to expand the dance troupe with pros who have been knocked out!)

And yes, I've only seen bits and pieces of the first 4 series - I've seen most of series 4 now and I would have been firmly Mark and Karen I'm afraid I do think Jill deserved to win series 2 though, love her jive. Series 3 I'm indifferent to, didn't find anyone I particularly liked. And series 1 I haven't bothered with much, there's not an awful lot of it left on YT!

I like that the dance troupe is small- it's just a pity that two of the best dancers turned it down, and the rest aren't given enough airtime to matter to the viewers. I don't think adding in all the eliminated pros is really the way to go, especially since they'll be performing in more routines than the showdance pros anyway.

You would have been behind Mark and Karen? Well, there's no accounting for taste

I think those first few series have such a nice atmosphere to them, compared to what has come since. And of course series two to four was really the era of Bennett, and Lilia in particular.

Well in light of Brendans sad news I feel doubly sorry for him that Michelle isnt out it would have made things easier for him all round........however I think perhaps he will hand over to Ian now.....I would if I was him. However I am not convinced that Michelle wont throw in the towel and leave.
