I'm missing something - was that supposed to be funny?

i haven't seen it but I guess it's because he's very competitive when it comes to sport or anything that relies on strength.

Dancing is quite girly and requires that you get in touch with your feelings, this is something very alien to Gavin who is taught from a young age to hide your emotions, don't show that you've been hurt, win at all costs etc., so for him dancing is embarassing and outside his comfort zone. He's therefore very self-conscious and unsure of himself, I find that really endearing!

He is a bit of an enigma

I think on 71 Degrees North he's more in his comfort zone and knows he has an advantage over the other competitors due to his sporting background. In a dancing environment he seems to have seriously put his guard up.

Having seen him interviewed and profiled many times here in Wales due to his rugby he comes across as extremely shy; except for when he's on the pitch and doing something he knows he's good at!

It was a good show tonight. Widde actually showed signs of dancing, and Pamela's rumba was the mutts nuts

i am glad actually of your reply because that is what i want to believe, just worried i was having the wool pulled, he is obviously a perfectionist (his body and rugby) both of which (certainly in many people's eyes) are pretty much near perfect whereas dancing so far out of comfort zone 'shuts himself down'
if that makes sense...

Hi Mambo - just noticed your name. I know this isn't to do with this week's show, but hey, this is the spoiler thread and we may be here some time, so....

just wondered - how did you feel last week when Widdie "danced" to Mambo Italiano? Slightly sick? Or ..... very sick indeed?

I didn't see the results show last week, though I gather I didn't miss much, as I usually follow this thread until the spoiler comes in. Can someone confirm if they still announce the results 'in no particular order'?

Thanks

Is it the main gate on Wood Lane, i.e. where the cars usually go in?”

Do you have a microphone you could take with you, a notepad and maybe a backpack?

Then people will think you're a proper reporter and want to speak to you, rather than suspecting you might be a DS loon

i like gavin, each week when i hear him speak he grows on me a bit. he comes across as painfully shy and to be fair he's so exposed.

it's funny how scott seems to have taken to it but gavin is struggling.

Speak for yourself. There is a very sophisticated bunch on his forum. Second thoughts, you might be right

I think those who can remember Pamela Stephenson back towards the end of her TV career, when she came across as a major nutter, trying 'hilarious' antics as randomly attacking people with eggs or pouring water over their heads while they read the autocue, struggle to find her as great now as others clearly do. It's probably much easier if you don't recall that era.

LOL - I made this face the entire time!

But that was mostly because she reminds me of me whenever I try to dance to...... anything really

Fair enough - humour differs from one person to the next.

I've brought cupcakes to help with the wait

I vowed to avoid finding out the results this year but alas I have failed miserably once again!

If she puts on dark glasses and uses a white stick, they might think she's the director.
