I have found for the last two years I have had to record Strictly so I can fast forward Alesha or mute it while she is speaking,

I am 25 and do not find her apealing to a so called younger audience,

Bring back one of the ex-pros (e.g Karen) who actually know what they are talking about,

Last year I found her extremely rude when she said to Craig Kelly 'Zoe was voted off last week and I had to endure that'. How rude, we have to endure you everyweek unfortunately.
I love the way so many people say Karen should be on the panel.

Um, Maybe Karen doesn't WANT to be on the panel.
She does have other things to do...

With Alesha, she is not a very good judge. Her grammer is dreadful. I thik she would be good doing Tess's job. As she as been there and done that.

But she is not a professional dancer nor any professional dance training. Apart from winning Strictly.

I think when they replaced Arlene. The BBC should have got Karen Hardy in. As Karen is a dancer, choreopher and been a professional dancer on Strictly.

If Alesha was replaced, they would replace her with someone who also has glamour. Wouldn't mind seeing the lovely Camilla back.

Think she showed herself up last night with her comments about Matt not keeping up and am glad that Craig pulled her up about that. Certainly none of the rest of the judges agreed with her over that.

oh for god's sake get over it arlenes not coming back plus ALESHA IS DOING A FANTASTIC JOB

Maybe the Alesha-bashers aren't actually watching the screen to see how the celebs take Alesha's remarks. They are always waiting for them, and very much of what Alesha says is welcomed and taken to heart by the contestant who's just danced his/her heart out. Alesha often knows how to tune into what they must be thinking, and I've noticed that Alesha's remarks are often the most quoted.

As someone used the word "cemented", yes, she is now a permanent member of the jury, and a very welcome one to the contestants.

In any case, what we think doesn't matter, thank goodness.
Would be tragic if it did.

I think having Alesha on the panel is the least of the problems with SCD this year. I didn't think she made a very good contribution last year, however in the new dumbed down DWTS cloned show this year, she fits in well with the other judges. In the past neither Craig nor Len would have put up with all the pfaffing around in the dances , but obviously they have been told to shut up and get on with it by the terrible new producer. In this new poor version of SCD, Alesha does not perform any more badly than the other judges, and she is certainly better than the frenetic Bruno.

I agree with every word of this. At the moment what the panel are doing comes a poor second to what's happening on the dancefloor imo, and by the time the judges get to comment on the routine I'm not listening anyway as I'm still trying to figure out what dance I'm supposed to have just witnessed

Alesha is much more relevant on the show than Emma bunton on dancing on ice?! Alesha can offer contestants advice from her point of view and for people struggling I bet it helps. Anyway all the other judges like her she tweeted they took her for dinner and she got to watch dwts in America

One should think twice before criticizing other people's grammar on an internet forum. I can point out so many mistakes in your post... but I don't want to embarrass you.

It baffles me as to how you can find Alesha annoying and yet want that gobby-mouthed Karen around. Are you kidding? My boyfriend and I literally jumped for joy when we heard she wasn't on the show any more. If she came back I'd be gutted. Yes, the woman undoubtedly knows her stuff but then while Hitler knew a lot about Germany, I wouldn't ask him to be my tour guide.

I don't know if the Alesha hate is classism or racism or reverse ageism or just plain old jealousy but it is getting really old.

She used to get on my nerves.

I don't think she's any better - I'm just used to it!

Accept shes there and move on. You are only spoiling your own enjoyment of an otherwise great show.

Isn't Alesha allowed to have an opinion that differs from the other judges? Craig, Len and Bruno are also at odds with each other sometimes -- even over technical stuff, too. Does that make them less credible as judges?

No. If she says something different to the other judges she doesn't know what she is talking about because none of the other judges picked up on the point.

If she agrees with any of the other judges she doesn't know what she is doing because she doesn't have a mind of her own and just copies everyone else.

Do keep up

On a positive note, I think she is better this year and have found myself agreeing with her - she sometimes hits the nail on the head. Still hate the "you was" though.

I find it annoying having to zap past all the Alesha grammer (sic) threads.

I don't start endless threads about it...

I agree actually , an oasis in the desert for some of them and she brings positivity and makes them smile .I like that in people .
Positivity is fine but she is not fulfulling all the functions of a judge which is to point out where dancers go wrong as well as telling them how to improve. Bruno, Craig and Len fulfill this function.
Alesha should not be called a judge but if SCD want her on the show, find her some other role and let a proper judge like Karen on the panel.

I've been tempted to just start a thread called "Alesha is the best judge ever!!!!!!" every time I see one of these bashing threads, but I'd probably get banned.

Why. Other people don't get banned when they start the Alesha is rubbish threads.

To be fair, she doesn't annoy me this year. If anything there is a huge improvement, because IMO she is finally doing what I wanted her to do in the first place, which is to be supportive of the contestants.

With regards to the Matt comment, I would actually agree with her (the judges seem to overlook his mistakes - spatular hands in the Foxtango, which doesn't help him to improve).

By the way, Len used the offensive "was" word yesterday as well . I've not seen any thread on it though.

That's because he's not a young, beautiful woman who supposedly usurped an old, annoying woman.

This is perfectly true. She is fulfilling the "I've been there, I know how hard it can be and I want to keep you positive" role much more this year.

Like others, I disliked Alesha's appointment because she doesn't have the credentials to do it properly imo. There is a definite possibility that she may find herself judging performances that are better than she could do and she doesn't have the experience elsewhere in dancing to compensate for this. That said, she was employed for a reason (because she was one of the best celebs ever on the show and could empathise with the contestants) and, as the quoted post points out, she's now making a fair stab at it.

I also agree with those who say that the way the choreography has gone makes Alesha a mere tiny ant in the ointment. Len has complained over and over again about all the "faffing". Why the hell did they change the rules so that "faffing" was permissable?
