I am so pleased to see how you have improved. Congratulations on your rumba tonight. Keep up the training Katya. He just needs some confidence

Yes, well done to them.

On a side note: Does anyone else think Katya has a whacking great crush on Gavin?

Yes ! Sometimes her voice goes squeaky and she gets flustered. I don't mean when she's annoyed.

Katya is so yummy to look at, very glamarous generally. Though feel for Gavin with how headstrong she is, but a lot of the professionals can be like that, though paul seems to have Ola tamed for the time being.

I think she sees what's attractive about him and likes him, but the fondling and doting girlfriendy looking stuff is what might get Gavin more comfortable with the intimacy of dancing.

At the start of the show, Gavin's reaction to sexy coaching from Katya was to become a statue - now he's joking 'Get over yourself.'

Its all happening too slow though, and thats not Katya's fault.

I did/do but Gavin said in the VT that she is NOT single and it sounded like he wished she was! Who's her lucky partner, anyone know?

She's all puppy-dog adoration and he's......well, I'm sure he's very pleasant but you wouldn't want to be stuck in a lift with him if you had to while away a few hours in conversation. Possibly not the sharpest knife out the block.

Most young girls go for exactly that type. He's cleverer than it may appear.

People see someone who talks slowly and the normal reaction is that the person is a bit thick, but that's often not the case.

Klaus Kongsdal (?). I think he's a dancer as well.

He is doing a fantastic job of hiding that fact!

Aw, bless him - he does try. Clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer, though - anybody think this might have been Gavin calling Asda's complaints department? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyPWOukMXd4

I've seen him interviewed, just because he's quiet, doesn't mean
he's thick.

I think it's because his expression seems to be permantently stuck on "awkward and a bit confused" no matter what he's doing. I'm currently choosing to assume he's cleverer than he looks and the awkward and confused thing is just because he's a still a bit lost when it comes to Strictly. Good on Katya for getting him there step by step though. I thought her choreography last night was very clever so that despite it being a Latin dance, he was barely on his own for even half a bar at a time. The beginning especially I thought she managed well so that although they had the side by side/ on their own bit, she was still right by his side and slightly in front (am I right in thinking she may even have been holding his hand still?).

He's a different person on 71 Degrees North. He's the main man on that, and even playing psychological games with the other competitors.

Fair enough, like I said I'm still just assuming he's just a bit baffled by the whole Strictly experience right now (and to be fair, who can blame him?), which sounds as though it may be correct as others have obviously seen him coming across better on other programmes. I do think that's why people who haven't seen him on anything else are currently assuming that he isn't the brightest crayon in the box, even though that may well be an unfair assumption.

I'd like to see him stay on the show as I do believe there is room for improvement. Over the weeks, I think he'll drop his 'macho' image and start showing some raw emotion which can really add to his performance.

I didn't like his dance yesterday though... I agreed with Len, it just looked like he was walking through it

Maybe Katya should take him to an acting class - Worked wonders for Matt Dawson!

I think he'll be good at the Tango too - hopefully that's the one they get!

I certainly hope he is cleverer than he looks Otherwise life must be a total mystery to him.

it's not the talking slowly that's the problem, it's what he's saying (not a lot) and the total lack of facial expression

I don't see the hotness - Scott for me is someone who's energy and personality make him twice as sexy as gav

I think Gav is hilarious! I can't believe the comment he made about how he wished Katya would fancy him and didn't have a bfriend as the rumba would make it easier for him! So funny!

i'm hoping Gav's playing the "shy/awkward M.Ramp" card and that in the next couple of weeks he'll suddenly blossom - however I have my doubts

She is? Are you watching the same show as I am...?

All I can see is Katya getting frustrated with him and treating him like Brendan used some dancers. She's almost trying to whip him into showing some emotions, well as far as I can see anyway...
