Poor Brendan.

I remember thinking he was quite reserved last night -as were the judges comments to this couple.

I wonder if he is going back to NZ for the funeral -or did his dad live in Britain?

My condolences to Brendan and his family.

Brendan's a real trouper for carrying on last night, under the circumstances. Ann had a few days to prepare herself mentally for doing the show despite the pain of her bereavement but Brendan didn't have that buffer.

If he does go back for the funeral, perhaps Michelle will dance with Ian or Matt this week?

Ditto. How awful for them both. Very strong of them to still perform.

Brendan's dad lived in NZ, and has been ill for last few years, but still it must be totally devastating for him and his whole family my sympathies go to brendan, scott, and his whole family at this awful time.

I also applaude his proffessionalism for carrying on last night, and performing when he must be in shock.

Sending sincere condolences to Brendan and all his family. Very sad news.

So professional to perform as he did last night, and how amazing that he has been able to show so much support to Michelle this week, with all that he must have had going on in himself. Sending very best wishes to him.

Sincere sympathies to Brendan and his family on the death of his dad - fair play to him for performing last night when it was probably the last place he wanted to be. Probably explains why the judges were 'nice' to Michelle after their dance.

Sorry for Brendan's loss.

This probably isn't appropriate for me to post here but I have to say I really disliked Brendan but then last year and especially last night seeing how he was with Michelle in the rehearsal video, I have to say he seems a top top bloke these days. He seems a genuinely nice fella nowadays

echoed - have also posted in Brendan's appreciation thread too.

Sending love and thoughts to Brendan and his family at this very sad time.

Brendan is a true pro to have carried on without mentioning one single thing about it - have huge admiration for him.

Oh, poor Brendan. Fair play to him for just carrying on - Michelle did seem quite subdued last night, and even seemed to be crying at one cutaway to the Tesspit - I did wonder whether something else was going on.
