Poor Brendan, my thoughts are with him and his family.

I don't think Michelle posting it on twitter was the right thing to do, the last thing he needs are 100 tweets saying "sorry for your loss" or whatever.

Currently watching SCD with my dear hubster who had to work last night. Commented to him how Brendan seemed reserved when talking to Tess. We presumed it was because the scores were not great, then read the title of the thread.

I have a lot of admiration for Brendan who must have been in pieces emotionally. I had my son's 4th birthday party the afternoon of my dad's death. I crumbled and leant on the other mummies; Brendan was on his own.

My thoughts are with him and his family.

Perhaps he okayed it? He may not have wanted to post it himself and so Michelle did it for him? It's possible. Besides, as Brendan's on his way back to New Zealand and Michelle will be dancing with Ian next week, an explanation would have to have been made at some point.

That's very sad; I hope when it comes to the funeral, the show will give him a weeks' bye (as they do if someone is ill) to go home to be with his family. God bless Brendan and Scott.

It's already been reported in the Daily Mail that Brendan is on his way back to New Zealand and Michelle will be dancing with Ian next week.

They're not going to penalise a celeb if their pro partner can't dance one week. They'll use a substitute pro.

Oh that's good. I didn't think they would penalise Michelle as such, just give them a bye till the next week.

But a substitute partner is much better, and of course it proves the value of keeping good dancers in the pro dancers group.

Apparently Brendan was offered a bye to go straight through to next week, but didn't want to let anyone down:

All the best to you and your family.

My favourite Strictly pro, without doubt when on game the best dancer the show has, something confirmed by Len on a number of occasions

Good grief, poor Brendan. My sincere condolences go out to him. And wow what a consummate professional he did his job and did it well you'd never know, what dignity.

Also I was hoping they'd bring Ian in what with Michelle being tall. I think he'll suite her gl to them all.

The BBC will be found out tonight because I'm assuming Brendan will be on the results show and yet it's now become public knowledge he's had to leave the show. Perhaps they should ditch the pretence it's filmed on Sundays!

My deepest sympathies to Brendan, Scott and family. I hope the show don't pressurise him into coming back and give him as much time off as he needs.

He and Ann really were utterly professional last night in dancing despite everything that's happened, very brave of both of them. Doubt I could have done it.

Looks like this is now going to happen.

I'll be delighted to see Ian even if only for one week, and possibly pleased for Michelle as it might help her, but poor Brendan. My heart goes out to him. It must have been really tough to keep it together last night, but he's a true professional so handled it very well. As did Anne.

I just logged on and read the title. Poor Brendan, he has my deepest sympathies. I thought he seemed subdued on Saturday. I can't imagine the strength it must have taken to actually go on with the show and I admire him so much for doing it.

Ian is my favourite pro and I would normally be thrilled to have him back, but it's such a bittersweet way to come back.

Poor Brendan. Thoughts with all his family at this time.

I hope the producers allow him as much time as he needs to be with his family in New Zealand.

My sincere condolences to brendan and his family at this sad time.

May god give them strength to get through this together. The way brendan performed last night was a tribute to the ultimate professional and the true gentleman that he is.

My thoughts are with you brendan.
