After seeing the Xmas episode(the first Mark free episode) and little glimpses of the first ep of series 4 was just wondering if there is any rule stating that the cast can't mention any of the former characters. It seems weird that Lauren in the Xmas ep made no mention of Mark after all that saga although we know off-screen they are still dealing.

I've got to agree and say TOWIE is no where near as good as it was when it first started.
And being a really big non Mark fan, I kinda missed him last night!
Joey & Diag's attempt to be the new Mark & Arg was pitiful. Why would you send your mate over to talk to a group of girls that contained your sister & your cousin?? Do the producers think we are THAT stupid to not see that it is all completely fake? My friend was in the Faces scene and it was filmed at 10am lol!!
I do love it, don't get me wrong any trash reality is right up my street, but surely there needs to be some realistic scenes to this show? Just one....??

Towie has definitely gone downhill, I can see more of the main cast (Lauren, Lydia, Arg) leaving at the end of this series before it sinks completely!!

It's true it was in Fabulous magazine in the Sun this weekend, Arg stormed off because not being on the front cover would ruin his career!!!! Lauren went out partying the night before the shoot and pulled a sickie!!

I didn't think last night was too bad. It was as good as series 3 but not as good as the first two series IMO.

Dean Piper (Sunday Mirror Showbiz Editor) posted last night that Arg has been openly asking people behind the scenes if "Lydia's the right girlfriend for his profile" !!! Also apparently Arg was 'trying to pull' his mate in Dubai a few weeks back! Dirty dog.
My opinion on last night:

Lauren G is so annoying! I've always disliked the way she's so bitchy to the other girls (Lucy in particular) I thought it was random how now Lucy and Lauren G were enjoying each others company and laughing away at Lydia's 21st meal...? Didn't think they liked each other at all.
I hope Lucy dumps Mario. I don't understand how she doesn't watch the show back and get annoyed with him? Unless it's all just acting and is scripted. I saw them walking down Brentwood High Street hand-in-hand a month ago so they are definitely together.
It annoys me how Amy Child's keeps saying how quitting Towie was the best choice ever. It may have been financially for her, but to be honest in her last series she came across as irritating and had crap storylines. If Gemma has now signed with CAN management then I presume she will go down the same route of having safe and uninteresting storylines, which is a shame because she is such a good character.
Sorry but I don't really miss Kirk that much. Found his friendship with Joey last series a bit cringe because I doubt they socialise in real life. Definitely missed Mark though! The bromance with Arg was missed.
Why wasn't Sam Faiers in the opening episode? She's an original and should've been shown. Interesting how they're going to cover up her fake jealousy of Joey and Jess now that she has a boyfriend.

For us Brentwood residents, the end can't come a moment too soon. Hopefully the shops will start to close, the tourists who come for TOWIE weekends to get hammered and cause trouble will stop coming and we can get back to being the nice-but-dull town we used to be before.

Lucy's has had a sale since about the second day it opened and it's still always empty, Amys salon is a on a short term lease (and her name isn't on it) and still only has a temporary sign up. Minnies is always empty and the twins sports nutrition shop is deader than the dodo.

Thats a nice post and yes you are right...She probably feels that she will be left behind...But in all honesty if Love is real nothing can change it....regardless.

Lucy, the twins and Sam/Billie all have small shops in Brentwood but I would imagine they're all leased rather than owned. Amy's salon is definitely on a short term lease and the lease isn't in here name so not sure how long it'll last now her show has been cancelled.

Lydia's & Jess's shops are in Loughton. I think Peri works in Hornchurch. There is a franchise of Bizara in Loughton but Peri doesn't work in there.
Lydia's shop always seems pretty busy but Jess's shop is dead all the time. Even the number of half naked pictures of Mark in the window isn't enough to intise people in!!!

This also isnt meant as an anti-Chloe rant. I think she seems a nice person just fragile and with a lot of issues. I just used her as an example to show why i think Lauren is unfairly treated. Ive seen comments here that say Lauren Pope obviously cant stand her and must hate filming scenes with her. From what i know they live together and continued to do so between series, Lauren P has said nothing but nice things about her and i regularly see pap shots of them on nights out/shopping together. It could be true but to me just seems another opportunity for people to be cruel about her.”
