there is no centre to the show now!

mark was the centre and most things/people revolved around him

1. Mark and Arg's friendship
2. Mark/Lauren/Sam/Lucy
3. Mark and his family
4. Marks parties

The rest of Mark's family are irrelevent now as are lauren g and sam, especially as Sam has lost amy and harry as well

Billi and Cara are pointless
Mick hanging out with people half his age looked stupid with no Kirk there
the new girl obvioulsy has no real spark with lauren p, should have kept maria

Chloe and Gemma need to be more involved in the show

i think they have made a mistake by not introducing a new male lead right from the start of this series and basing the show around him, all we got was joeys dopey mate and the new girl who is pointless and brings nothing new.

Joey and Arg are not right to be the face of the show, they need a likeable ladies man

and everything just seems too fake now!!!!!!!!!!!!

if towie does not improve in 2/3 eps i can see viewers ditching it fast

I LOVE TOWIE, but last night I was shouting at the TV..

"MICK WHY ARE YOU HANGING AROUND WITH KIRKS MATES, BUT NOT MENTIONING KIRK? and where are your real friends, you know from your age group??" believeable? NO

"Lucy if you are gunna cry the whole episode at least wipe your eyes properly" no girl ever sits at home crying carefully dabbing the eyeliner, u just booo and look a mess!

Since when have Sam and Arg been close? and Arg mention MARK!! dont list all the people who you cant turn to and not mention MARK!

STOP SHOEHORNING Lauren G and Sam into the show, all their links are gone, they are just contrived!

WHYYYY would Lucy invite Cara and whoever that girl who is always with Cara (who never speaks or does anything) to her place when she is upset? she wouldn't! and why would she not be able to hear them talking about the emails from the kitchen thingy behind the sofa?!?!

Joey and Arg work better as background characters rather than the leads

I wouldn't rip you apart as we are each entitled to our opinion but I don't think Lauren helps herself she was shown as a bitch way back in series 1 with an overinflated ego. Some of the stuff she said back then put me off her though I'm beginning to think it was the editing.

On a side note how was that Georgina supposed to know Lauren P. When I read her announcement 2 weeks ago she hadn't met the cast yet?
I think maybe it was a defense mechanism, she knew people were going to call her stupid and a doormat for sticking by Mark so tried to overcompensate with her tough act?

I still cant understand why Lucy gets so much sympathy. She went with Laurens boyfriend twice, cheating on her own boyfriend, then lied about it!
I also remember reading a quote from a lads mag shoot she did saying ''lauren is jealous of me because i am Mark's type. slim and dark haired, whereas she is...''
that is not nice!

I agree. Also, i know it is meant to be reality tv so Cara couldnt just say ''i will have to tell her else she will see this on itv2 sunday night'' but for Cara to say it right behind Lucy and whilst being filmed, was so fake!

Arg has gotten way too big for his boots, like Amy did. Maybe it would have been better if they just got a whole new cast at the end of series 2 and do that every 2 series? It's getting like The Hills where they were famous but never acknowledged it. I think Mark was TOWIEs Lauren Conrad, and without him it doesnt work.

Just wondering did anyone notice on last nights episode, when Mario was chapping the door for Lucy to let him in, the door swayed like it was already open?

I had to rewind it to make sure and the door definately moves.

Don't be silly nothing exists outside of the cameras. Think about it Jack Tweed LIVED with Mark throughout the first series and possibly second yet never got a mention. I don't like this series I enjoyed last series cos although it was obviously scripted there was still funny moments. This year theres not even that. Like the stuff thats supposed to be funny i.e the dogs in prams just looks like trying too hard

Was also great how she got ready for bed but did not take her make up off.
That made me laugh too! It was soooo caked on too! It would have taken ages for her to get the stuff off!

Tickled me the way she dabbed her eyes all the time but her mascara or eyeliner or lippy didn't smudge!!

Show is getting a bit contrived now ... no one is at the forefront anymore.

As for Billie and Cara and their flamin' dogs ...

I am very disappointed with the new series of TOWIE, and I have to agree it's lost it's spark now alot of the main characters have left.

As for Billie and Cara, the way they treat those poor little dogs, they do have legs you know, they can walk!!!!!! They're not fit to own dogs! Dogs like to sniff different smells outside on a walk. It's disgraceful pushing the poor creatures around in prams and decorating them with jewellery.

At least Amy Childs treats her dog like a dog.

Hi all, I'm a lurker but I had to get this out!

That episode was sooooooooooooo cringe-worthy I had to pause it (itv player) every now and then in order to BREATHE.

The swaying door was so funny! I couldn't help but crack up at it.

What a complte pile of poo this has turned into. It used to be hiarious for all the wrong reasons not its just too contrived.

Do people like this really exist in Essex or elsewhere for that matter

One funny part howeve when cara and Billie were pushing their dogs, the poor dogs having them as owners, Billie said something like. "she was glad she did not get the pink pram and this would have looked ridiculous". WTF

Surely Lucy will have watched the show or heard from twitter/friends about Mario texting Cara/Billie? And would Mario really leave his ipad lying around with all those emails knowing what Lucys like? You can just tell the whole things set up. They probably didnt get the response they were hoping for with series 4 so decided to spice it up with this fake storyline !

809k (4.2%) from 10pm

The Only Way Is Essex drew a further 142k (1.4%) on timeshift.

Wednesday has always been low.

Regarding the claims of the programme being set up, I thought that was obvious from the moment we saw Chloe (or was it Amy?) in one episode complain about being single and then bump into a guy outside. I think it's kind of like a soap but the cast have to improvise the dialogue. It's still funny though.

Is one of the new characters a tall, mixed race girl? I ask that because I was at a friends in Brentwood yesterday and, as I drove past Lucys Boutique, there was a crowd outside and a photographer was taking photos of a girl who fits that description.

For gawds sake - what a load of old tosh! First time I have given a moments time to this show, but stopped by whilst looking for something to watch. Thick lasses wearing even thicker layers of make up talking like they left school at 10
I was just about to switch over when I caught the girl in leopard print waiting for her cue to move It could be funny, as someone else said, for all the wrong reasons. But life's too short to waste any more time on it. How the hell did it win any awards???

Mark made the show. Every other person in the show only became interesting when they were either interacting with him or talking about him when he wasn't there. Amy was only interesting from a male point of view. So when she left it didn't really make a diff.

The show needs a few new strong personalities - male and female. Not all too young either as Mick's ok as long as the producers don't make him look an idiot playing with the inbetweeners.
