Arg hasn't done anything wrong this series, he's just more confident and people like him more now, even his fellow cast have praised him. It's ok to boast a little if you achieved something and he has achieved alot in a short period of time, it's good to be proud of oneself. Mark was like this and everyone loved him.

Axe Lydia instead.

When Arg was talking to Lydia, and he was all like, (cant remember the exact words but...) If you dont get with me, you may well regret it ... was very big headed of him. I get that has lost weight, and looks much better then he use to, but I think his ego is overtaking his body tbh. When Lydia called him an arrogant arsehole, she was pretty much on the money. Yes did well, but he aint no James Bond yet!

Yes, and also his comments that he could have Lydia on her back with her knickers down if he wanted to.
Plus his arrogant behaviour at the fabulous shoot and the info I posted from a guy who did security for them.
I stand by my comment that fame has gone to his head.

That Lydia remark was last series when he was still hurting. Lydia was still toying with his feelings, throwing him the occasional bone every now and again, like a good dog. I'm proud that Arg has become his own person. Why is it okay for Mark to be bigheaded but not Arg? Arg is on a high after being depressed for so long. Arg should be seen as a motivational figure, if Arg can turn his life around, anyone can.

Well I wouldn't put anything past the producers. When I went to London last year we got talking to someone in a bar who Lauren G used to be a receptionist for and he told us that he knew Lauren well and that her and Mark weren't even together and their engagement was just for the show - which almost seems to have been proved true considering the random/swift nature of it where they went from single to engaged and then over summer split up again with not much explanation during the show.

What's inherently humiliating about being "dumped" by someone because they're gay, though? The fact that the problem with the pairing was entirely one sided should really be the opposite of humiliating? It's not Gemma's fault that he isn't interested in girls, it's nothing to do with Gemma. Surely humiliation is generally caused when you're dumped for something you have done?

Arg's attitude to Lydia stank, he basically said:

But going back to your points, he's "achieved a lot"? I must have missed something, but to me it looked like all he did was lose a little bit of weight. He's lucky enough to have the time and money to indulge in luxuries like porcelain veneers, and has access to diet and fitness advice, things which, to my mind, are more like leisure activities than achievements. It's great that he's feeling happier, and I do like Arg, but as viewers we're entitled to think he ought to tone down the attitude.

Secondly, not "everyone" loved Mark. The only times I did warm to the lad was when he wasn't being an arrogant, boasting tosser.

There is a world of difference between healthy confidence (confident people can still be humble!!) and vile arrogance.

Really good point! I want to know where the piggie went as well. If they dropped their pet after the novelty wore off I'd feel really differently about them.

They were sold the pig as a micro pig, but it's not. Lydia's mum let her keep it as long as they could, but he got too big so they took him to the local farm I believe.

That story about mark & Lauren not really being engaged is rubbish lol

So true, the Arg of today is so different from the person we saw at the start of the show. He use to have a charm, a really likeable-ness about him, now thats gone, and theres an inflated ego. Lydia did good to get rid, cos his ego at this point is only going in one direction. I use to so like him so much, shame what fame and some weight loss can do.

Arg has been unbearable this series. He's lost some weight, yes, but he's still got moobs and a jelly belly. You can't even say his personality is a redeeming feature as he's been an utter arse. I think he is actually a sexist pig. It's ok for him to mess around with girls, but when Lydia sleeps with someone else, all of a sudden he's better than her? What a c*ck! He's the arrogance of Mario, but without any of the looks.

Testify! At least with Mario, you have something there that you wouldnt kick out of bed. Just the sight of him on that beach in his breifs, so got me all hot and bothered. He could be a model or something. Arg on the other hand, not so much.

I hear what your saying guys but your comparison with Mario is abit unfair, Mario is allowed to be more conceited because he's considered better looking by you lot but Arg isn't? It's a double standard. Also at least with Arg you get more personality, Mario is like wallpaper in most scenes, can't stand his best friend either. Anyway I don't see what all the fuss is about Arg, he has more confidence, he still seems likeable to me and he's enjoying life more, Lydia is too, everything has worked out for the better.

The thing with Arg's personality is the inflated ego, when the show started, he was a very likeable and watchable person, but now on the fifth series, he is not the like the guy we knew at the start, he's changed, and while it is good he has confidence, he ego outstrips his looks and personality at this point imo.

cant help but feel that if mark was still around maybe arg's ego wouldnt be as big because mark was always putting him down.
too be fair series 1 of essex lydia was a little bit chunkier and then she lost weight and if i remember rightly then she started getting a bit big headed also. i cant remember exactly what she said but she was starting to be a bit of a B***c and i remember because it made me unlike her.

when people lose weight they just show off a bit but over time they realise that nothings changed, yes they have lost weight but thats it at the end of the day.

Amen!!! He should wear that everyday of the week, and he would if I ran the world. Not many men could pull that off, and own it like he does, but he does.

But was it just me who didnt get why she was p'eed off with Charlie- shouldnt it have been the other way around?

Ive really went off Gemma this series. And Jess? She's supposed to be 26 but acts like a teenager. Ricky is playing her with all the right words and messages  and she is falling for it- daft bint.
